Recent results with CVD diamond trackers / RD42 Collaboration
We present recent results on the use of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) diamond microstrip detectors for charged particle tracking. A series of detectors was fabricated using 1*1 cm/sup 2/ diamonds. [...]

CVD diamond detectors for ionizing radiation / RD42 Collaboration
In future HEP accelerators, such as the LHC (CERN), detectors and electronics in the vertex region of the experiments will suffer from extreme radiation. Thus radiation hardness is required for both detectors and electronics to survive in this harsh environment. [...]

CVD diamond sensors for charged particle detection / RD42 Collaboration
CVD diamond material was used to build position-sensitive detectors for single-charged particles to be employed in high-intensity physics experiments. To obtain position information, metal contacts shaped as strips or pixels are applied to the detector surface for one- or two- dimensional coordinate measurement. [...]

Review of the development of diamond radiation sensors / RD42 Collaboration
Diamond radiation sensors produced by chemical vapour deposition are studied for the application as tracking detectors in high luminosity experiments. Sensors with a charge collection distance up to 250 mu m have been manufactured. [...]

The ATLAS beam conditions monitor / Mikuz, M (Ljubljana Univ., Slovenia) ; Cindro, V ; Dolenc, I ; Kagan, H ; Kramberger, G ; Frais-Kölbl, H ; Gorisek, A ; Griesmayer, E ; Mandic, I ; Pernegger, H et al.
The ATLAS beam conditions monitor is being developed as a stand-alone device allowing to separate LHC collisions from background events induced either on beam gas or by beam accidents, for example scraping at the collimators upstream the spectrometer. This separation can be achieved by timing coincidences between two stations placed symmetric around the interaction point. [...]

Performance of irradiated CVD diamond micro-strip sensors / RD42 Collaboration
CVD diamond detectors are of interest for charged particle detection and tracking due to their high radiation tolerance. In this article we present, for the first time, beam test results from recently manufactured CVD diamond strip detectors and their behavior under low doses of electrons from a $\beta$-source and the performance before and after intense ($>10^{15}/{\rm cm^2}$) proton- and pion-irradiations. Tracking with CVD diamond radiation sensors at high luminosity colliders (1999-3.1507) / Schnetzer, S R ; Adam, W ; Bauer, C ; Berdermann, E ; Bergonzo, P ; Bogani, F ; Borchi, E ; Brambilla, A ; Bruzzi, Mara (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) ; Colledani, C et al.
Recent progress on developing diamond-based sensors for vertex detection at high luminosity hadron colliders is described. Measurements of the performance of diamond sensors after irradiation to fluences of up to 5*10/sup 15/ hadrons/cm/sup 2/ are shown. [...]

Signal-to-noise simulation of n+ on n type Si micro-strip detectors / Bader, Attila ; My, Salvatore ; Radicci, Valeria ; Raso, Giuseppe ; Tempesta, Paolo ; De Palma, Mauro
Using a SPICE network model, we simulated the signal and noise of AC-coupled, single-sided, n+ on n type Si micro-strip detectors connected to PreMux-128 read-out electronics. The detector response was studied before and after neutron irradiation with a fluence of 8.3E13 n/cm2. [...]

First test results of a high-speed beam conditions monitor for the ATLAS experiment / Pernegger, Heinz (CERN)
The paper presents the design and first test results of the high- speed beam conditions monitor (BCM) for the ATLAS experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC). The goal of the BCM is to monitor instantaneous rates of collision and background and detect signs of beam instabilities. [...]
