Phase transitions in a non-perturbative regime can be studied by ab initio Lattice Field Theory methods. The status and future research directions for LFT investigations of Quantum Chromo-Dynamics under extreme conditions are reviewed, including properties of hadrons and of the hypothesized QCD axion as inferred from QCD topology in different phases. 50 Years of Quantum Chromodynamics / Gross, Franz (Jefferson Lab ; William-Mary Coll.) ; Klempt, Eberhard (Bonn U., HISKP) ; Brodsky, Stanley J. (SLAC) ; Buras, Andrzej J. This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day. Topics include a review of the earliest theoretical and experimental foundations; the fundamental constants of QCD; an introductory discussion of lattice QCD, the only known method for obtaining exact predictions from QCD; methods for approximating QCD, with special focus on effective field theories; QCD under extreme conditions; measurements and predictions of meson and baryon states; a special discussion of the structure of the nucleon; techniques for study of QCD at high energy, including treatment of jets and showers; measurements at colliders; weak decays and quark mixing; and a section on the future, which discusses new experimental facilities or upgrades currently funded. Study of hard and electromagnetic processes at CERN-SPS energies: an investigation of the high-$\mu_{\mathbf{B}}$ region of the QCD phase diagram with NA60+ / NA60+ Collaboration
The exploration of the phase diagram of Quantum ChromoDynamics (QCD) is carried out by studying ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. The energy range covered by the CERN SPS ($\sqrt{s_{\rm \scriptscriptstyle{NN}}} \sim$ 6-17 GeV) is ideal for the investigation of the region of the phase diagram corresponding to finite baryochemical potential ($\mu_{\rm B}$), and has been little explored up to now. QCD challenges from pp to AA collisions: 4th edition / Altmann, Javira (Monash U.) ; Andres, Carlota (Ecole Polytechnique, CPHT) ; Andronic, Anton (Munster U., ITP) ; Antinori, Federico (INFN, Padua) ; Antonioli, Pietro (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) ; Beraudo, Andrea (INFN, Turin) ; Berti, Eugenio (INFN, Florence) ; Bianchi, Livio (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Boettcher, Thomas (Cincinnati U.) ; Capriotti, Lorenzo (Ferrara U.) et al.
This paper is a write-up of the ideas that were presented, developed and discussed at the fourth International Workshop on QCD Challenges from pp to AA, which took place in February 2023 in Padua, Italy. The goal of the workshop was to focus on some of the open questions in the field of high-energy heavy-ion physics and to stimulate the formulation of concrete suggestions for making progresses on both the experimental and theoretical sides. Investigating efficient methods for computing four-quark correlation functions / Abdel-Rehim, Abdou (SUNY, Utica/Rome ; Cyprus Inst.) ; Alexandrou, Constantia (Cyprus Inst. ; Cyprus U.) ; Berlin, Joshua (Frankfurt U.) ; Dalla Brida, Mattia (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Finkenrath, Jacob (Cyprus Inst.) ; Wagner, Marc (Frankfurt U.)
We discuss and compare the efficiency of various methods, combinations of point-to-all propagators, stochastic timeslice-to-all propagators, the one-end trick and sequential propagators, to compute two-point correlation functions of two-quark and four-quark interpolating operators of different structure including quark-antiquark type, mesonic molecule type, diquark-antidiquark type and two-meson type. Although we illustrate our methods in the context of the $a_0(980)$, they can be applied for other multi-quark systems, where similar diagrams appear. [...]

Measurement of $\Lambda$(1520) production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The production of the $\Lambda$(1520) baryonic resonance has been measured at midrapidity in inelastic pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV for non-single diffractive events and in multiplicity classes. The resonance is reconstructed through its hadronic decay channel $\Lambda$(1520) $\rightarrow$ pK$^{-}$ and the charge conjugate with the ALICE detector. [...]
