The ALICE O2 common driver for the C-RORC and CRU read-out cards / Boeschoten, Pascal (CERN) ; Costa, Filippo (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is the heavy-ion detector designed to study the strongly interacting state of matter realized in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). A major upgrade of the experiment is planned during the 2019-2020 long shutdown [...]

FELIX: a PCIe based high-throughput approach for interfacing front-end and trigger electronics in the ATLAS upgrade framework / Chen, Kai (Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)) /ATLAS Collaboration
The ATLAS Phase-I upgrade requires a Trigger and Data Acquisition (TDAQ) system able to trigger and record data from up to three times the nominal LHC instantaneous luminosity. The FELIX system provides this in a scalable, detector agnostic and easily upgradeable way. [...]

Benchmarking message queue libraries and network technologies to transport large data volume in the ALICE O system / Chibante Barroso, V (CERN) ; Fuchs, U (CERN) ; Wegrzynek, A (CERN)
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is the heavy-ion detector designed to study the physics of strongly interacting matter and the quark-gluon plasma at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). ALICE has been successfully collecting physics data of Run 2 since spring 2015. [...]

Commissioning of the ALICE readout software for LHC Run 3 / Chapeland, Sylvain (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is a heavy-ion detector studying the physics of strongly interacting matter and the quarkgluon plasma at the CERN LHC (Large Hadron Collider). During the second long shut-down of the LHC, the ALICE detector was upgraded to cope with an interaction rate of 50 kHz in Pb-Pb collisions, producing in the online computing system (O2) a sustained input throughput of 3.5 TB/s.In the past years, the O2/FLP project built the new data-acquisition system capable of handling this load. Preparation for ALICE data processing and analysis in LHC Run 3 / Eulisse, Giulio (CERN) /ALICE Collaboration
After the ALICE Long Shutdown 2 detector upgrades, including a new silicon tracker and a GEM-based readout for the TPC, the experiment will operate during LHC Run 3 at a peak Pb-Pb collision rate of 50 kHz, about 50 times higher than in previous running periods. To maximise the significance of physics signals with low S/B ratios for which triggering is not possible, all events will be read out and written to permanent storage without any selective trigger.
