Multiplicity fluctuations in L3 and QCD / Chekanov, S V ; Kittel, E W ; Mangeol, D J J ; Metzger, W J /L3 Collaboration
Multiplicity fluctuations are studied both globally (in terms of high-order moments) and locally (in terms of small phase-space intervals). The ratio of cumulant factorial to factorial moments of the charged-particle multiplicity distribution shows a quasi- oscillatory behavior similar to that predicted by the NNLLA of perturbative QCD. [...]

Oscillation of $_{q}$ moments as not a test of QCD / Metzger, W J
The ratio of cumulant factorial to factorial moments of the charged particle multiplicity distribution shows oscillatory behaviour similar to that predicted by NNLLA. However, an analysis of the jet multiplicity distribution finds these oscillations only at nonperturbative scales. [...]

Angular Intermittency and Analytical QCD Predictions / Chekanov, S.V. (Nijmegen U.) /L3 Collaboration
We present a comparison of local multiplicity fluctuations in angular phase-space intervals with first-order QCD predictions. The data are based on 810k hadronic events at 91.2 GeV collected with the L3 detector at LEP during 1994..

Search for the standard model Higgs boson in $e^{+}e^{-}$ four- jet topology using neural networks and discriminant analysis / Mjahed, M
We present an attempt to separate between Higgs boson events (e/sup + /e/sup -/ to ZH to qqbb) and other physics processes in the 4-jet channel (e/sup +/e/sup -/ to Z/ gamma , W/sup +/W, ZZ to 4jets), using the discriminant analysis and neural networks methods. Events were produced at LEP2 energies, using the Lund Monte Carlo generator and the Aleph package. [...]

Measurement of the scaling property of factorial moments in hadronic Z decay / Chen, G ; Hu, Y ; Liu, L S ; Kittel, E W ; Metzger, W J
Both three- and one-dimensional studies of local multiplicity fluctuations in hadronic Z decay are performed using data of the L3 experiment at LEP. The normalized factorial moments in three dimensions exhibit power-law scaling, indicating that the fluctuations are isotropic, which corresponds to a self-similar fractal. [...]

Multiplicity studies at HERA / Brook, N H
The factorial moments and the mean of the charged multiplicity distribution have been investigated in neutral-current deep inelastic scattering. The measurements are compared to data from other interactions and theoretical QCD predictions made in the double logarithmic approximation in conjunction with local parton hadron duality..

New results on multiplicity, identified particles and spin measurements in $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions / Nomokonov, Vasilii (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.)
The analyses of recent LEP data provide us with a rich ground for pQCD and LPHD tests. A number of non-trivial effects predicted in the framework of MLLA are experimentally verified. [...]

Self-affine analysis for the dynamical fluctuations inside jets produced in high energy hadron-hadron collisions / Yin Jian Wu ; Liu Feng ; Lian Shou Liu
A self-affine analysis is performed on the jets (minijets) produced in proton- antiproton collisions at CERN-SppS collider energy. The jets are identified by the "Cone algorithm". [...]
