[Abridged] We consider extensions of the standard model based on open strings ending on D-branes. Assuming that the fundamental string mass scale M_s is in the TeV range and that the theory is weakly coupled, we discuss possible signals of string physics at the upcoming HL-LHC run (3000 fb^{-1}) with \sqrt{s} = 14 TeV, and at potential future pp colliders, HE-LHC and VLHC, operating at \sqrt{s} = 33 and 100 TeV, respectively. Catching sparks from well-forged neutralinos
/ Bramante, Joseph (Notre Dame U.) ; Delgado, Antonio (Notre Dame U. ; CERN) ; Elahi, Fatemeh (Notre Dame U.) ; Martin, Adam (Notre Dame U.) ; Ostdiek, Bryan (Notre Dame U.)
In this paper we present a new search technique for electroweakinos, the superpartners of electroweak gauge and Higgs bosons, based on final states with missing transverse energy, a photon, and a dilepton pair, $\ell^+\,\ell^- + \gamma + \displaystyle{\not} E_T$. Unlike traditional electroweakino searches, which perform best when $m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_{2,3}} - m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_1}, m_{\widetilde{\chi}^{\pm}} - m_{\widetilde{\chi}^0_1} > m_Z$, our search favors nearly degenerate spectra; degenerate electroweakinos typically have a larger branching ratio to photons, and the cut $m_{\ell\ell} \ll m_Z$ effectively removes on-shell Z boson backgrounds while retaining the signal. Electroweak and supersymmetry breaking from the Higgs discovery
/ Delgado, Antonio (Notre Dame U. ; Santa Barbara, KITP) ; Garcia, Mateo (Barcelona, IFAE) ; Quiros, Mariano (Santa Barbara, KITP ; CERN ; ICREA, Barcelona ; Barcelona, IFAE)
We will explore the consequences on the electroweak breaking condition, the mass of supersymmetric partners and the scale at which supersymmetry is broken, for arbitrary values of the supersymmetric parameters tan(beta) and the stop mixing X_t, which follow from the Higgs discovery with a mass m_H\simeq 126 GeV at the LHC. Within the present uncertainty on the top quark mass we deduce that radiative breaking requires tan(beta) \gtrsim 7 for maximal mixing X_t\simeq \sqrt{6}, and tan(beta) \gtrsim 20 for small mixing X_t\lesssim 1. SUSY naturalness without prejudice
/ Ghilencea, D.M. (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH)
Unlike the Standard Model (SM), supersymmetric models stabilize the electroweak (EW) scale $v$ at the quantum level and {\it predict} that $v$ is a function of the TeV-valued SUSY parameters ($\gamma_\alpha$) of the UV Lagrangian. We show that the (inverse of the) covariance matrix of the model in the basis of these parameters and the usual deviation $\delta\chi^2$ (from $\chi^2_{min}$ of a model) automatically encode information about the "traditional" EW fine-tuning measuring this stability, {\it provided that} the EW scale $v\sim m_Z$ is indeed regarded as a function $v=v(\gamma)$. $\mathbb R^3$ Index for Four-Dimensional $N=2$ Field Theories
/ Alexandrov, Sergei (Montpellier U.) ; Moore, Gregory W. (Rutgers U., Piscataway) ; Neitzke, Andrew (U. Texas, Austin (main)) ; Pioline, Boris (CERN ; UPMC, Paris (main))
In theories with $N=2$ supersymmetry on $R^{3,1}$, BPS bound states can decay across walls of marginal stability in the space of Coulomb branch parameters, leading to discontinuities in the BPS indices $\Omega(\gamma,u)$. We consider a supersymmetric index $I$ which receives contributions from 1/2-BPS states, generalizing the familiar Witten index $Tr (-1)^F e^{-\beta H}$. [...]

Closing in on the Tip of the CMSSM Stau Coannihilation Strip
/ Desai, Nishita (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Luo, Feng (King's Coll. London) ; Marrouche, Jad (CERN)
Near the tip of the stau coannihilation strip in the CMSSM with a neutralino LSP, the astrophysical cold dark matter density constraint forces the stau-neutralino mass difference to be small. If this mass difference is smaller than the tau mass, the stau may decay either in the outer part of an LHC detector - the `disappearing track' signature - or be sufficiently long-lived to leave the detector before decaying - the long-lived massive charged-particle signature.
