Euclidean time windows in the integral representation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$ serve to test the consistency of lattice calculations and may help in tracing the origins of a potential tension between lattice and data-driven evaluations. In this paper, we present results for the intermediate time window observable computed using O($a$) improved Wilson fermions at six values of the lattice spacings below 0.1 fm and pion masses down to the physical value. We compute the hadronic running of the electromagnetic and weak couplings in lattice QCD with $N_{\mathrm{f}}=2+1$ flavors of $\mathcal{O}(a)$ improved Wilson fermions. Using two different discretizations of the vector current, we compute the quark-connected and -disconnected contributions to the hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) functions $\bar{\Pi}^{\gamma\gamma}$ and $\bar{\Pi}^{\gamma Z}$ for Euclidean squared momenta $Q^2\leq 7\,\mathrm{GeV}^2$. We present results for the short-distance window observable of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$, computed via the time-momentum representation (TMR) in lattice QCD. A key novelty of our calculation is the reduction of discretization effects by a suitable subtraction applied to the TMR kernel function, which cancels the leading $x_0^4$-behaviour at short distances. Machine-learning techniques as noise reduction strategies in lattice calculations of the muon $g-2$

Lattice calculations of the hadronic contributions to the muon anomalous magnetic moment are numerically highly demanding due to the necessity of reaching total errors at the sub-percent level. Noise-reduction techniques such as low-mode averaging have been applied successfully to determine the vector-vector correlator with high statistical precision in the long-distance regime, but display an unfavourable scaling in terms of numerical cost. We compute the hadronic light-by-light scattering contribution to the muon $g-2$ from the up, down, and strange-quark sector directly using lattice QCD. Our calculation features evaluations of all possible Wick-contractions of the relevant hadronic four-point function and incorporates several different pion masses, volumes, and lattice-spacings. Photon emissivity of the quark-gluon plasma: a lattice QCD analysis of the transverse channel

We present results for the thermal photon emissivity of the quark-gluon plasma derived from spatially transverse vector correlators computed in lattice QCD at a temperature of 250 MeV. The analysis of the spectral functions, performed at fixed spatial momentum, is based on continuum-extrapolated correlators obtained with two flavours of dynamical Wilson fermions. [...]

We present the first laser spectroscopic measurement of the neutron-rich nucleus $^{68}$Ni at the \mbox{$N=40$} subshell closure and extract its nuclear charge radius. Since this is the only short-lived isotope for which the dipole polarizability $\alpha_{\rm D}$ has been measured, the combination of these observables provides a benchmark for nuclear structure theory. The hadronic contribution to the running of $\alpha$ and the electroweak mixing angle

We report on our update to [1] on the hadronic running of electroweak couplings from $O(a)$-improved Wilson fermions with $N_f=2+1$ flavours. The inclusion of additional ensembles at very fine lattice spacings together with a number of techniques to split the different contributions for a better control of cutoff effects allows us to substantially improve the precision.
