Combined muon reconstruction at Level-2 / Di Mattia, A ; Nisati, A ; Robins, S
An algorithm is presented which combines features extracted using stand-alone Level-2 algorithms in the muon system and the SCT, to produce a combined muon object at Level-2 for the region |eta|<1. [...]

Online Muon Reconstruction in the ATLAS Muon Spectrometer at the Level-2 stage of the Event Selection / Di Mattia, A (Michigan State U.)
To cope with the 40 MHz event production rate of LHC, the ATLAS experiment uses a multi level trigger architecture that selects events in three sequential steps, increasing the complexity of reconstruction algorithms and accuracy of measurements with each step. [...]

Online Muon Reconstruction in the ATLAS Muon Spectrometer at the Level-2 stage of the Event Selection / Di Mattia, A (Michigan State University)
To cope with the 40 MHz event production rate of LHC, the ATLAS experiment uses a multi level trigger architecture that selects events in three sequential steps, increasing the complexity of reconstruction algorithms and accuracy of measurements with each step. The Level-1 is implemented with custom hardware and provides a first reduction of the event rate to 75KHz, identifying physics candidates within a small detector region (Region of Interest, RoI). The Fast Tracker real time processor and its impact on the muon isolation, tau & b jet online selections at Atlas / Crescioli, F ; Giannetti, P
As the LHC luminosity is ramped up to the design level of 3x10^{34} cm^{-2} s^{-1} and beyond, the high rates, multipicities, and energies of particles seen by the detectors will pose a unique challenge. Only a tiny fraction of the produced collisions can be stored on tape and immense real-time data reduction is needed. [...]
