Heavy resonances at energy-frontier hadron colliders / Helsens, Clement (CERN) ; Jamin, David (CERN ; Taiwan, Inst. Phys.) ; Mangano, Michelangelo L. (CERN) ; Rizzo, Thomas G. (SLAC) ; Selvaggi, Michele (CERN)
This paper explores the physics reach of the proton-proton Future Circular Collider (FCC-hh) and of the High-Energy LHC (HE-LHC) for searches of new particles produced in the $s$-channel and decaying to two high-energy leptons, jets (non-tops), tops or W/Z bosons. We discuss the expected discovery potential and exclusion limits for benchmark models predicting new massive particles that result in resonant structures in the invariant mass spectrum. [...]

Multiple scattering of channeled and non-channeled positively charged particles in bent monocrystalline silicon / Scandale, W. (CERN) ; Arduini, G. (CERN) ; Cerutti, F. (CERN) ; Esposito, L.S. (CERN) ; Garattini, M. (CERN) ; Gilardoni, S. (CERN) ; Losito, R. (CERN) ; Masi, A. (CERN) ; Mirarchi, D. (CERN) ; Montesano, S. (CERN) et al.
We present the results of an experimental study of multiple scattering of positively charged high energy particles in bent samples of monocrystalline silicon. This work confirms the recently discovered effect of a strong reduction in the rms multiple scattering angle of particles channeled in the silicon (111) plane. [...]

Shining Light on the Dark Sector - Searches for Axion-like Particles and Other New Physics in Photonic Final States with FASER / FASER Collaboration
The first FASER search for a light, long-lived particle decaying into a pair of photons is reported. The search uses the collected 2022 and 2023 LHC proton-proton collision data at √s = 13.6 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 57.7 fb−1 . [...]

Reduction of multiple scattering of high-energy positively charged particles during channeling in single crystals / Scandale, W. (CERN) ; Esposito, L.S. (CERN) ; Garattini, M. (CERN ; Imperial Coll., London) ; Rossi, R. (CERN) ; Zhovkovska, V. (CERN) ; Natochii, A. (CERN ; Orsay, LAL) ; Addesa, F. (INFN, Rome) ; Iacoangeli, F. (INFN, Rome) ; Galluccio, F. (INFN, Naples) ; Murtas, F. (CERN ; LNF, Dafne Light) et al.
We present the experimental observation of the reduction of multiple scattering of high-energy positively charged particles during channeling in single crystals. According to our measurements the rms angle of multiple scattering in the plane orthogonal to the plane of the channeling is less than half that for non-channeled particles moving in the same crystal. The conceptual design study of a hadron Future Circular hadron-hadron Collider (FCC-hh) with a center-of-mass energy of the order of 100 TeV assumes using in the experimental detector the superconducting magnetic system with a central magnetic flux density of an order of 4 T. [...]

Layouts for fixed-target experiments and dipole moment measurements of short-living baryons using bent crystals at the LHC / Mirarchi, D. (CERN ; Manchester U.) ; Fomin, A.S. (CERN ; Kharkov, KIPT) ; Redaelli, S. (CERN) ; Scandale, W. (CERN)
Several studies are on-going at CERN in the framework of the Physics Beyond Collider study group, with main aim of broadening the physics research spectrum using the available accelerator complex and infrastructure. The possibility to design a layout that allows fixed-target experiments in the primary vacuum of the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), without the need of a dedicated extraction line, is included among these studies. The medium-modified $ g\to c\overline{c} $ splitting function in the BDMPS-Z formalism / Attems, Maximilian (CERN) ; Brewer, Jasmine (CERN) ; Innocenti, Gian Michele (CERN) ; Mazeliauskas, Aleksas (CERN) ; Park, Sohyun (CERN) ; van der Schee, Wilke (CERN) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
The formalism of Baier-Dokshitzer-Mueller-Peigné-Schiff and Zakharov determines the modifications of parton splittings in the QCD plasma that arise from medium-induced gluon radiation. Here, we study medium-modifications of the gluon splitting into a quark--anti-quark pair in this BDMPS-Z formalism. [...]

A thermal product formula / Dodelson, Matthew (CERN) ; Iossa, Cristoforo (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Karlsson, Robin (CERN) ; Zhiboedov, Alexander (CERN)
We show that holographic thermal two-sided two-point correlators take the form of a product over quasi-normal modes (QNMs). Due to this fact, the two-point function admits a natural dispersive representation with a positive discontinuity at the location of QNMs. [...]
