A new analysis of the MiniBooNE low-energy excess / Giunti, C. (INFN, Turin) ; Ioannisian, A. (CERN ; Yerevan Phys. Inst. ; ITPM, Yerevan) ; Ranucci, G. (INFN, Milan)
We present the results of a new analysis of the data of the MiniBooNE experiment taking into account the additional background of photons from $\Delta^{+/0}$ decay proposed in arXiv:1909.08571 and additional contributions due to coherent photon emission, incoherent production of higher mass resonances, and incoherent non-resonant nucleon production. We show that the new background can explain part of the MiniBooNE low-energy excess and the statistical significance of the MiniBooNE indication in favor of short-baseline neutrino oscillation decreases from $5.1\sigma$ to $3.6\sigma$. Assessing the role of nuclear effects in the interpretation of the MiniBooNE low-energy anomaly / Ericson, M. (CERN ; Lyon, IPN) ; Garzelli, M.V. (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Giunti, C. (INFN, Turin) ; Martini, M. (IRFU, SPhN, Saclay)
We study the impact of the effect of multinucleon interactions in the reconstruction of the neutrino energy on the fit of the MiniBooNE data in terms of neutrino oscillations. We obtain some improvement of the fit of the MiniBooNE low-energy excess in the framework of two-neutrino oscillations and a shift of the allowed region in the $\sin^2 2\vartheta$--$\Delta{m}^2$ plane towards smaller values of $\sin^2 2\vartheta$ and larger values of $\Delta{m}^2$. LSND versus MiniBooNE: Sterile neutrinos with energy dependent masses and mixing? / Schwetz, Thomas (CERN)
Standard active-sterile neutrino oscillations do not provide a satisfactory description of the LSND evidence for neutrino oscillations together with the constraints from MiniBooNE and other null-result short-baseline oscillation experiments. However, if the mass or the mixing of the sterile neutrino depends in an exotic way on its energy all data become consistent. [...]

Sterile neutrino oscillations after first MiniBooNE results / Maltoni, Michele (Univ. Autónoma Madrid, Madrid, Spain) ; Schwetz, Thomas (CERN)
In view of the recent results from the MiniBooNE experiment we revisit the global neutrino oscillation fit to short-baseline neutrino data by adding one or two sterile neutrinos with eV-scale masses to the three Standard Model neutrinos, and for the first time we consider also the global fit with three sterile neutrinos. Four-neutrino oscillations of the (3+1) type have been only marginally allowed before the recent MiniBooNE results, and become even more disfavored with the new data. [...]

Observation of a Significant Excess of Electron-Like Events in the MiniBooNE Short-Baseline Neutrino Experiment / Katori, Teppei (speaker) (Queen Mary University of London)
The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab reports results from an analysis of electron neutrino (nue) appearance data from 1.3E21 protons on target (POT) in neutrino mode, an increase of approximately a factor of two over previously reported results (PRL110(2013)161801). A nue charged-current quasi-elastic  (CCQE) event excess of 381.2 +/- 85.2 events (4.5sigma) is observed in the energy range 200 < EnuQE < 1250 MeV. Combining these data with the electron anti-neutrino (nuebar) appearance data from 1.1E21 POT in antineutrino mode, a total nue plus nuebar CCQE event excess of 460.5 +/- 95.8 events (4.8 sigma) is observed [...]

Can standard model and experimental uncertainties resolve the MiniBooNE anomaly? / Brdar, Vedran (Fermilab ; Northwestern U.) ; Kopp, Joachim (CERN ; Mainz U., Inst. Phys.)
We critically examine a number of theoretical uncertainties affecting the MiniBooNE short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment in an attempt to better understand the observed excess of electron-like events. We re-examine the impact of fake charged current quasi-elastic (CCQE) events, the background due to neutral current $\pi^0$ production, and the single-photon background. [...]

A Standard Model explanation for the excess of electron-like events in MiniBooNE / Ioannisian, A. (Yerevan Phys. Inst. ; ITPM, Yerevan ; CERN)
We study the dependence of neutral current (NC) neutrino-induced $\pi^0$/photon production ($\nu_\mu + A \to \nu_\mu +1\pi^0 / \gamma + X$) on the atomic number of the target nucleus, A, at 4-momentum transfers relevant to the MiniBooNE experiment: $\Delta$ resonance mass region. [...]
