/ Abdolmaleki, H. (Unlisted) ; Accomando, E. (Unlisted) ; Bertone, V. (Unlisted) ; Fiaschi, J. (Unlisted) ; Giuli, F. (Unlisted) ; Glazov, A. (Unlisted) ; Hautmann, F. (Unlisted) ; Luszczak, A. (Unlisted) ; Moretti, S. (Unlisted) ; Novikov, I. (Unlisted) et al.
We investigate the impact of high-statistics Drell-Yan (DY) measurements at the LHC on the study of non-perturbative QCD effects from parton distribution functions (PDF). We present the results of a PDF profiling analysis based on the neutral-current DY forward-backward asymmetry, using the open source fit platform xFitter..

/ Fiaschi, Juri (Liverpool U., Dept. Math.) ; Giuli, Francesco (CERN ; INFN, Rome2 ; Rome U., Tor Vergata) ; Hautmann, Francesco (Antwerp U. ; Oxford U.) ; Moretti, Stefano (Southampton U.)
We address the impact of future measurements of charged and neutral current Drell-Yan (DY) asymmetries and their combination on Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) uncertainties. We quantify the reduction of PDF uncertainties using the QCD tool xFitter. [...]

Non-perturbative QCD effects from Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) may be constrained by using high-statistics Large Hadron Collider (LHC) data. Drell-Yan (DY) measurements in the Charged Current (CC) case provide one of the primary means to do this, in the form of the lepton charge asymmetry. [...]

Enhancing the Large Hadron Collider Sensitivity to Charged and Neutral Broad Resonances of New Gauge Sectors
/ Fiaschi, Juri (Liverpool U., Dept. Math.) ; Giuli, Francesco (CERN ; INFN, Rome2 ; Rome U., Tor Vergata) ; Hautmann, Francesco (Antwerp U. ; Oxford U.) ; Moretti, Stefano (Southampton U.)
In scenarios beyond the Standard Model (BSM) characterized by charged (W′) or neutral (Z′) massive gauge bosons with large width, resonant mass searches are not very effective, so that one has to exploit the tails of the mass distributions measured at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In this case, the LHC sensitivity to new physics signals is influenced significantly by systematic uncertainties associated with the Parton Distribution Functions (PDF), particularly in the valence quark sector relevant for the multi-TeV mass region. Neutral current Drell-Yan (DY) lepton-pair production is considered in the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). Using the open-source fit platform xFitter, we investigate the impact of high-statistics measurements of the neutral current DY (NCDY) forward-backward asymmetry AFB near the weak boson mass scale in the present and forthcoming stages of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We study the impact of the inclusion of Neutral Current (NC) DY data from LHC mapped in the Forward-Backward Asymmetry (AFB) observable on PDF uncertainties, using the open source platform \texttt{xFitter}. We find that AFB enables new PDF sensitivity at current and future luminosity stages of LHC..

Dilepton Forward-Backward Asymmetry and electroweak mixing angle at ATLAS and CMS

/ATLAS ; CMS
We present measurements of the forward-backward asymmetry in Drell-Yan dilepton ( ee and μ μ ) events with the data sample of pp collisions at √ s = 7 TeV and 8 TeV collected by ATLAS and CMS detector. At CMS, the measurements are extended up to the boson rapidity, | y | =5, by including forward electrons [...]

Flavor dependent b-profiles from Drell-Yan spectra at low transverse momenta
/ Bury, M. (Unlisted, PL) ; Hautmann, F. (CERN ; Antwerp U. ; Oxford U. ; U. Antwerp (main) ; U. Oxford (main)) ; Leal-Gomez, S. (Vienna U.) ; Scimemi, I. (Madrid U.) ; Vladimirov, A. (Madrid U. ; Regensburg U.) ; Zurita, P. (Regensburg U.)
We discuss our recent study of the impact of collinear PDFs and their uncertainties on the determination of transverse momentum dependent (TMD) distributions and the description of Drell-Yan (DY) production measurements at low transverse momenta. Using QCD factorization and evolution in transverse coordinate b space, this study takes into account for the first time flavor-dependent non-perturbative b-profiles. [...]
