Probing active-edge silicon sensors using a high precision telescope / Akiba, K (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Artuso, M (Syracuse U.) ; van Beveren, V (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; van Beuzekom, M (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Boterenbrood, H (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Buytaert, J (CERN) ; Collins, P (CERN) ; Dumps, R (CERN) ; van der Heijden, B (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Hombach, C (Manchester U.) et al.
The performance of prototype active-edge VTT sensors bump-bonded to the Timepix ASIC is presented. Non-irradiated sensors of thicknesses 100–200 μm and pixel-to-edge distances of 50 μm and 100 μm were probed with a beam of charged hadrons with sub-pixel precision using the Timepix telescope assembled at the SPS at CERN. Characterisation of Medipix3 Silicon Detectors in a Charged-Particle Beam / Akiba, K. (Rio de Janeiro Federal U.) ; Alozy, J. (CERN) ; Aoude, R.Tourinho (Rio de Janeiro, Pont. U. Catol.) ; van Beuzekom, M. (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Buytaert, J. (CERN) ; Collins, P. (CERN) ; Dosil Suárez, A. (Santiago de Compostela U.) ; Dumps, R. (CERN) ; Gallas, A. (Santiago de Compostela U.) ; Hombach, C. (Manchester U.) et al.
While designed primarily for X-ray imaging applications, the Medipix3 ASIC can also be used for charged-particle tracking. In this work, results from a beam test at the CERN SPS with irradiated and non-irradiated sensors are presented and shown to be in agreement with simulation, demonstrating the suitability of the Medipix3 ASIC as a tool for characterising pixel sensors..

Observation of charmonium pairs produced exclusively in $pp$ collisions / LHCb collaboration
A search is performed for the central exclusive production of pairs of charmonia produced in proton-proton collisions. Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3{\rm\ fb}^{-1}$ collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, $J/\psi J/\psi$ and $J/\psi\psi(2S)$ pairs are observed, which have been produced in the absence of any other activity inside the LHCb acceptance that is sensitive to charged particles in the pseudorapidity ranges $(-3.5,-1.5)$ and $(1.5,5.0)$. Effective lifetime measurements in the $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}$, $B^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{+}K^{-}$ decays / LHCb collaboration
Measurements of the effective lifetimes in the $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}$, $B^{0} \rightarrow K^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $B_{s}^{0} \rightarrow \pi^{+}K^{-}$ decays are presented using $1.0~\mathrm{fb^{-1}}$ of $pp$ collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV by the LHCb experiment. The analysis uses a data-driven approach to correct for the decay time acceptance. [...]

Observation of $Z$ production in proton-lead collisions at LHCb / LHCb collaboration
The first observation of $Z$ boson production in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per proton-nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5~\text{TeV}$ is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $1.6~\text{nb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. [...]

Search for $CP$ violation in $D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}$ and $D^{\pm}_{s}\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}$ decays / LHCb collaboration
A search for $CP$ violation in Cabibbo-suppressed $D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}$ and $D^{\pm}_{s}\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}$ decays is performed using $pp$ collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3~fb$^{-1}$, recorded by the LHCb experiment. The individual $CP$-violating asymmetries are measured to be \begin{eqnarray*} \mathcal{A}_{CP}^{D^{\pm}\rightarrow K^0_S K^{\pm}} & = & (+0.03 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.14) \% \\ \mathcal{A}_{CP}^{D^{\pm}_s\rightarrow K^0_S \pi^{\pm}} & = & (+0.38 \pm 0.46 \pm 0.17) \%, \end{eqnarray*} assuming that $CP$ violation in the Cabibbo-favoured decays is negligible. Study of the kinematic dependences of $\Lambda_b^0$ production in $pp$ collisions and a measurement of the $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$ branching fraction / LHCb collaboration
The kinematic dependences of the relative production rates, $f_{\Lambda_b^0}/f_d$, of $\Lambda_b^0$ baryons and $\bar{B}^0$ mesons are measured using $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ \pi^-$ and $\bar{B}^0 \rightarrow D^+ \pi^-$ decays. The measurements use proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb$^{-1}$ at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, recorded in the forward region with the LHCb experiment. The isospin asymmetries of $B \to K\mu^+\mu^-$ and $B \to K^{*}\mu^+\mu^-$ decays and the partial branching fractions of the $B^0 \to K^0\mu^+\mu^-$, $B^+ \to K^+\mu^+\mu^-$ and $B^+ \to K^{*+}\mu^+\mu^-$ decays are measured as functions of the dimuon mass squared, $q^2$. The data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb$^{-1}$ from proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 TeV and 8 TeV in 2011 and 2012, respectively. The measured value of the $\bar{B}_s^0\to D_s^-D_s^+$ effective lifetime is $1.379\pm0.026\pm0.017$ ps, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. [...]
