Towards Future Circular Colliders / Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN presently provides proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass (c.m.) energy of 13 TeV. The LHC design was started more than 30 years ago, and its physics programme will extend through the second half of the 2030’s. [...]

Future Circular Colliders / Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
In response to a request from the 2013 Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the global Future Circular Collider (FCC) study is preparing the foundation for a next-generation large-scale accelerator infrastructure in the heart of Europe. The FCC study focuses on the design of a 100-TeV hadron collider (FCC-hh), to be accommodated in a new ∼100 km tunnel near Geneva. [...]

Status and Challenges of the Future Circular Collider Study / Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
Following the 2013 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the international Future Circular Collider (FCC) study has been launched by CERN as host institute, to design an energy frontier hadron collider (FCC-hh) in a new 80-100 km tunnel with a centre-of-mass energy of about 100 TeV, an order of magnitude above the LHC's, as a long-term goal. The FCC study also includes the design of a 90-350 GeV high-luminosity lepton collider (FCC-ee) fitting the same tunnel, serving as Higgs, top and Z factory, as a potential intermediate step, as well as an electron-proton collider option (FCC-he). Status of the Future Circular Collider Study / Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
Following the 2013 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, the international Future Circular Collider (FCC) Study has been launched by CERN as host institute. Its main purpose and long-term goal is to design an energyfrontier hadron collider (FCC-hh) with a centre-of-mass energy of about 100 TeV in a new 80–100 km tunnel. [...]

Machine Parameters and Projected Luminosity Performance of Proposed Future Colliders at CERN / Bordry, Frederick (CERN) ; Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Bruning, Oliver (CERN) ; Jowett, John (CERN) ; Rossi, Lucio (CERN) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Stapnes, Steinar (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
In response to a request from the CERN Scientific Policy Committee (SPC), the machine parameters and expected luminosity performance for several proposed post-LHC collider projects at CERN are compiled: three types of hadron colliders (HL-LHC upgrade, FCC-hh and HE-LHC), a circular lepton collider (FCC-ee), a linear lepton collider (CLIC), and three options for lepton-hadron colliders (LHeC, HE-LHeC, and FCC-eh). FCC-hh: The Hadron Collider : Future Circular Collider Conceptual Design Report Volume 3 Vol. 3
The Hadron Collider (FCC-hh)
/ Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Capeans Garrido, Mar (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Goddard, Brennan (CERN) ; Gutleber, Johannes (CERN) ; Jimenez, Jose Miguel (CERN) ; Mangano, Michelangelo (CERN) ; Mertens, Volker (CERN) ; Osborne, John Andrew (CERN) ; Otto, Thomas (CERN) et al.
Particle physics has arrived at an important moment of its history. The discovery of the Higgs boson, with a mass of 125 GeV, completes the matrix of particles and interactions that has constituted the “Standard Model” for several decades. [...]

This report describes a novel research infrastructure, based on a hadron collider with centre-of-mass collision energy of 100 TeV, collecting an integrated luminosity a factor of 5 or more larger than the HL-LHC. It will extend the current energy frontier by almost an order of magnitude. [...]

Outline and Status of the FCC-ee Design Study / Zimmermann, Frank (CERN) ; Benedikt, Michael (CERN)
The Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics in 2013 [1] declared as its second highest priority that “…to propose an ambitious post-LHC accelerator project….., CERN should undertake design studies for accelerator projects in a global context,…with emphasis on proton-proton and electron-positron high-energy frontier machines…”. In response to this request, the global Future Circular Collider (FCC) study is designing a 100-TeV proton collider (FCC-hh) in a new ~100 km tunnel near Geneva, a high-luminosity electron-positron collider (FCC-ee) as a potential intermediate step, and a lepton-hadron option (FCC-he). Future Circular Collider - European Strategy Update Documents The Integrated Programme (FCC-int) / Benedikt, Michael (CERN) ; Blondel, Alain (Universite de Geneve (CH)) ; Brunner, Olivier (CERN) ; Capeans Garrido, Mar (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Gutleber, Johannes (CERN) ; Goddard, Brennan (CERN) ; Janot, Patrick (CERN) ; Jimenez, Jose Miguel (CERN) ; Klein, Max (University of Liverpool (GB)) et al.
The most effective and comprehensive approach to thoroughly explore the open questions in modern particle physics is a staged research programme, integrating in sequence lepton (FCC-ee) and hadron (FCC-hh) collision programmes, to achieve an exhaustive understanding of the Standard Model and of electroweak symmetry breaking, and to maximize the potential for the discovery of phenomena beyond the Standard Model. The project would rely on a shared and cost effective technical and organizational infrastructure, as was the case with LEP followed by LHC. [...]
