Infrared sensitivity of single jet inclusive production at hadron colliders / Currie, James (Durham U., IPPP) ; Gehrmann-De Ridder, Aude (ETH, Zurich (main) ; Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, E.W. Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, Alexander (CERN) ; Pires, João (Lisbon, CFTP)
Jet production at hadron colliders is a benchmark process to probe the dynamics of the strong interaction and the structure of the colliding hadrons. One of the most basic jet production observables is the single jet inclusive cross section, which is obtained by summing all jets that are observed in an event. [...]

A comparative study of Higgs boson production from vector-boson fusion / Buckley, A. (Glasgow U.) ; Chen, X. (Zurich U. ; KIT, Karlsruhe, TP ; KIT, Karlsruhe, SCC) ; Cruz-Martinez, J. (CERN) ; Huston, J. (Michigan State U.) ; Lindert, J.M. (Sussex U.) et al.
The data taken in Run II at the LHC have started to probe Higgs boson production at high transverse momentum. Future data will provide a large sample of events with boosted Higgs boson topologies, allowing for a detailed understanding of electroweak Higgs boson plus two-jet production, and in particular the vector-boson fusion mode (VBF). NNLO QCD predictions for Z-boson production in association with a charm jet within the LHCb fiducial region / Gauld, R. (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Gehrmann-De Ridder, A. (ETH, Zurich (main) ; Zurich U.) ; Glover, E.W. N. (Durham U., IPPP ; Durham U.) ; Huss, A. (CERN) ; Garcia, A. Rodriguez (ETH, Zurich (main)) ; Stagnitto, G. (Zurich U.)
We compute next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections to neutral vector boson production in association with a charm jet at the LHC. This process is studied in the forward kinematics at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, which may provide valuable constraints on the intrinsic charm component of the proton. [...]

NNLO QCD corrections in full colour for jet production observables at the LHC / Chen, X. (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP ; KIT, Karlsruhe, IAP) ; Gehrmann, T. (Zurich U.) ; Glover, E.W. N. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, A. (CERN) ; Mo, J. (Zurich U.)
Calculations for processes involving a high multiplicity of coloured particles often employ a leading colour approximation, where only the leading terms in the expansion of the number of colours $N_c$ and the number of flavours $n_f$ are retained. This approximation of the full colour result is motivated by the $1/N_c^2$ suppression of the first subleading terms and by the increasing complexity of including subleading colour contributions to the calculation. Vector Boson Production in Association with a Jet at Forward Rapidities / Gehrmann-De Ridder, A. (Zurich, ETH ; Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann, T. (Zurich U.) ; Glover, E.W.N. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, A. (CERN) ; Walker, D.M. (Durham U., IPPP)
Final states with a vector boson and a hadronic jet allow one to infer the Born-level kinematics of the underlying hard scattering process, thereby probing the partonic structure of the colliding protons. At forward rapidities, the parton collisions are highly asymmetric and resolve the parton distributions at very large or very small momentum fractions, where they are less well constrained by other processes. Dijet production in diffractive deep-inelastic scattering in next-to-next-to-leading order QCD / Britzger, D. (Heidelberg U.) ; Currie, J. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Gehrmann, T. (Zurich U.) ; Huss, A. (CERN) ; Niehues, J. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Žlebčík, R. (DESY)
Hard processes in diffractive deep-inelastic scattering can be described by a factorisation into parton-level subprocesses and diffractive parton distributions. In this framework, cross sections for inclusive dijet production in diffractive deep-inelastic electron-proton scattering (DIS) are computed to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD accuracy and compared to a comprehensive selection of data. Isolated photon and photon+jet production at NNLO QCD accuracy and the ratio $R_{13/8}^\gamma$ / Chen, X. (Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann, T. (Zurich U.) ; Glover, N. (Durham U., IPPP) ; Höfer, M. (Zurich U.) ; Huss, A. (CERN) /ATLAS Collaboration
We discuss different approaches to photon isolation in fixed-order calculations and present a new next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD calculation of $R_{13/8}^\gamma$, the ratio of the inclusive isolated photon cross section at 8 TeV and 13 TeV, differential in the photon transverse momentum, which was recently measured by the ATLAS collaboration..

Scale and isolation sensitivity of diphoton distributions at the LHC / Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, Alexander (Durham U., IPPP ; CERN) ; Whitehead, James (Durham U., IPPP)
Precision measurements of diphoton distributions at the LHC display some tension with theory predictions, obtained at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD. We revisit the theoretical uncertainties arising from the approximation of the experimental photon isolation by smooth-cone isolation, and from the choice of functional form for the renormalisation and factorisation scales. Isolated photon and photon+jet production at NNLO QCD accuracy / Chen, Xuan (Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Höfer, Marius (Zurich U.) ; Huss, Alexander (CERN)
We describe the calculation of the next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD corrections to isolated photon and photon-plus-jet production, and discuss how the experimental hadron-level photon definition and isolation criteria can be approximated in the theoretical parton-level calculation. The NNLO corrections lead to a considerable reduction of the theory uncertainty on the predictions, typically to less than five per cent, and enable an improved description of experimental measurements from ATLAS and CMS..

Jet cross sections at the LHC and the quest for higher precision / Bellm, Johannes (Lund U.) ; Buckley, Andy (Glasgow U.) ; Chen, Xuan (Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann-De Ridder, Aude (Zurich U. ; Zurich, ETH) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, Alexander (CERN) ; Pires, Joao (Lisbon, CFTP) ; Höche, Stefan (SLAC ; Fermilab) ; Huston, Joey (Michigan State U.) et al.
We perform a phenomenological study of $Z$ plus jet, Higgs plus jet and di-jet production at the Large Hadron Collider. We investigate in particular the dependence of the leading jet cross section on the jet radius as a function of the jet transverse momentum. [...]
