Run 2 Collimation Overview
/ Fuster Martinez, N. (CERN) ; Abramov, A (CERN ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Azzopardi, G (CERN ; Malta U.) ; Belli, E (CERN) ; Boscolo-Meneguolo, C (CERN) ; Bruce, R (CERN) ; D' Andrea, M. (CERN ; Padua U.) ; Di Castro, M. (CERN) ; Fiascari, M (CERN) ; Fomin, A (CERN ; Kharkov, KIPT) et al.
The LHC collimation system is designed to provide protection against regular and abnormal losses in order to reduce the risk of quenches of the superconducting magnets as well as the background in the experiments. All Run 2 proton and ion runs were successfully completed with no magnet quenches from slow losses of the circulating beam. [...]

The Large Hadron-Electron Collider at the HL-LHC
/ FCC-he Study Group Collaboration
The Large Hadron electron Collider, LHeC, is the means to move deep inelastic physics following HERA to the energy frontier of particle physics as it is being exploited by the HL-LHC. The paper presents a thorough update of the initial LHeC Conceptual Design Report (CDR) published in 2012. [...]

HL-LHC Hollow Electron Lens Integration using MERLIN
/ Rafique, H. (University of Huddersfield ; CERN) ; Appleby, R.B. (University of Manchester ; Cockcroft Institute, Daresbury) ; Barlow, R.J. (University of Huddersfield) ; Molson, J.G. (Orsay, LAL) ; Tygier, S.C. (University of Manchester ; Cockcroft Institute, Daresbury) ; Valloni, A. (CERN ; Cockroft Institute, Daresbury)
The C++ accelerator physics library MERLIN has been developed for LHC collimation. Recently MERLIN has been upgraded to provide a robust tool for HL-LHC collimation, including the treatment of composite materials, and a hollow electron lens process. [...]

Beam Commissioning of the 750 MHz Proton RFQ for the LIGHT Prototype
/ Dimov, Veliko (Unlisted, CH) ; Caldara, Michele (Unlisted, CH) ; Degiovanni, Alberto (Unlisted, CH) ; Esposito, Luigi Salvatore (Unlisted, CH) ; Fink, Daniel (Unlisted, CH) ; Giunta, Marina (Unlisted, CH) ; Jeff, Adam (Unlisted, CH) ; Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN) ; Mathot, Serge (CERN) ; Valloni, Alessandra (Unlisted, CH) et al.
ADAM (Application of Detectors and Accelerators to Medicine), a CERN spin-off company, is developing the Linac for Image Guided Hadron Therapy, LIGHT, which will accelerate proton beams up to 230 MeV. The design of the linac will allow fast intensity and energy modulation for pencil-beam scanning during cancer treatment. [...]

PERLE - Lattice Design and Beam Dynamics Studies
/ Bogacz, Alex (Jefferson Lab) ; Angal-Kalinin, Deepa (Daresbury) ; Arduini, Gianluigi (CERN) ; Bousson, Sébastien (Orsay, IPN) ; Brüning, Oliver (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Chaikovska, Iryna (Orsay, LAL) ; Douglas, David (Jefferson Lab) ; Dr Schirm, Karl-Martin (CERN) ; Gerigk, Frank (CERN) et al.
PERLE (Powerful ERL for Experiments) is a novel ERL test facility, initially proposed to validate choices for a 60 GeV ERL foreseen in the design of the LHeC and the FCC-eh. Its main thrust is to probe high current, CW, multi-pass operation with superconducting cavities at 802 MHz (and perhaps testing other frequencies of interest). [...]
