過捕(surplus kill)係獵食者有陣時會有嘅一種行為,指佢哋殺起獵物上嚟會零舍狼死,殺嘅數量多過佢哋需要食嘅數量。喺呢種情況下,佢哋通常會食走一啲殺咗嘅獵物,跟住儲起或者放棄淨低嘅肉。呢種行為喺浮游生物、豆娘若蟲、補食蟎、鼬、蜜獾、狼、虎鯨、赤狐、斑鬣狗、蜘蛛、棕熊、猞猁、貂、同家貓等獵食性動物上都觀察得到[1][2]。
