Please put more thought into creating new items

[edit]

Dear Raniapahn,

I see you've recently created a lot of new items through Mix'n'Match with items referring to Sceneweb. Please stop creating items like Q124536266. It's not practical to have items in Wikidata that only have a label and instance of (P31) statement. If there are multiple people with a name for which you've created an item, then it's impossible to see which one is which based on the statements in an item, because there are no statements beyond that they're a human. It's apparent to me that having Sceneweb artist ID (P10298) doesn't by itself co

confer enough notability for a Wikidata item to be created. If you do think a person in this set deserves a Wikidata item than please also import the other relevant info like their occupation and nationality. 1Veertje (talk) 21:00, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you're OK with me adding a babel box to your user page. That's still the way you do language configuration within a wikimedia project. I see you've started adding more descriptors and year of birth/death to an item. However: please don't add a norsk description in the English language field for a description! This is of course meant for an English language description. Now that I've added the babel box to your user page you should also see a norsk description field. 1Veertje (talk) 13:09, 20 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You've been blocked because you're not responding to my messages and continue to create items that have too little data in them to be useful. 1Veertje (talk) 18:11, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! I'm sorry I did not see your messages. I am working for Norwegian digital archive where we link our database to wikidata. This is whay I made so many new items. Sorry for the inconvenience. Is it possible to unblock me? Raniapahn (talk) 15:42, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please could you respond to the concerns above? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:40, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have never added anything in Norwegian. So this accusation is a false one. I think the best thing is to take contact with my boss, Elisabeth Leinslie from Sceneweb Archive and instruct her with whatever the guidelines are supposed to be here, so that she is informed and can train us two in the staff properly. Thank you. Raniapahn (talk) 08:46, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I can stop making these items. I only followed the instructions my supervisor and editor for Sceneweb.no - Elisabeth Leinslie - had taught me. Raniapahn (talk) 08:43, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The last new item you created, Q124620241 and some others before that have a Norwegian description in the English description field. 1Veertje (talk) 20:24, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I see that. But I am not the one that did that, because Elisabeth Borud Leinslie has instructed us not to. If it is in Norwegian it was probably there before. I only accept, if created means whatever text on Sceneweb.no automatically comes up - well, thats technical. Have you contacted Elisabeth, my supervisor? Because you two need to agree so that she can train us correctly. Raniapahn (talk) 05:19, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When you accept an item as not reconciled against any existing item, then a new item is created. You have created 2,658 new items. The person responsible for your edits is you. I'm not going to talk to your supervisor, you'll have to do that yourself. I see you've continued to create new items that haven't any other statements attached to them besides that this is an item about a human that has a Sceneweb ID and a label (name of the person). The latest is Jennie Lindström (Q124749495). If I look at their info on Sceneweb this is a total nobody who was just a onetime shadow player in one production. This is not the kind of data we need in Wikidata. Please stop with the creation of new items and go over the ones you've already created and improve their usefulness by adding more statements. Your latest item I've nominated for deletion. You are adding a lot of useless data and don't seem to know what you're doing. Please try to familiarize yourself a bit more on what Wikidata is. I would strongly suggest you clean up the items you have already created before adding more junk. 1Veertje (talk) 09:08, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Mass-deleting

[edit]

Please see Wikidata:Administrators'_noticeboard#User:Raniapahn continuing to create junk items. In about three days, recent creations will be deleted unless notability criteria will be met, see User:Bovlb/How to create an item on Wikidata so that it won't get deleted --Estopedist1 (talk) 21:23, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
