MediaWiki message delivery (talkcontribs)

Hello

This is an important message regarding this page.

This page uses Structured Discussions/Flow, an obsolete tool that causes many maintenance problems. It has been decided to remove this tool from the wikis.

As of December 16, it will no longer be possible to add a new topic or post a message on this page.

Before this date, you can move or have this page moved to a subpage, in order to archive it. Once moved, this page will become a standard discussion page.

If you get this message on your personal talk page, it is probably because you turned Structured Discussions on, using the Beta features page. Please check there if you can to turn Structured Discussions off.

If you haven't moved this page by December 16, a script will automatically move the page to an archive page (the format will be Page name/Flow). The page using Structured Discussions/Flow will then be made read-only.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Hi! I was a little uncomfortable reading one of your recent comments on WD:AN, specifically where you said "it looks kind of shitty on you as an administrator".

In this discussion you made some very good points about best practices around blocking IPv6 users. It would be good if such advice were documented somewhere. You might consider proposing an addition to Wikidata:Blocking policy.

Nevertheless, and notwithstanding Koavf's rather odd remark to which you were replying, I don't think it was appropriate for you to suddenly throw an accusation like that into the discussion. I'm not sure if you were aware, but Koavf is one of our newer administrators, having gained the status about three weeks ago. This might be a good time to encourage and guide them, rather than slinging insults.

@Bovlb, please do me the favor of not misgendering me again. My pronouns are known, and on record with Wiki preferences, so there is no need to use "they". Thanks.

Bovlb (talkcontribs)

Thanks for the feedback. I don't considering it to be misgendering when I don't actually know your pronouns, but I will try to take your view on board.

Thanks for setting your gender in preferences, but please bear in mind that it is difficult for other users to access this directly. The usual way on other projects (e.g. ENWP) is to use Template:They (Q22746444), but that template doesn't exist here on Wikidata. I'll look into creating it.

If this is important to you, you should probably add something to your user page. (I don't see an appropriate userbox.)

In the meantime, I would like to say that I will try to do better in future, but I still don't know what your preferred pronouns are. There is always going to be a need to refer to other editors without researching the preferred pronouns of each one, and I think you need to be tolerant of this, especially as yours are not easy to determine.

Bovlb (talkcontribs)

I have created the "they" template, and this is the result for you: he

Elizium23 (talkcontribs)

Okay Bovlb. I'm taking that on board. Thanks.

I just wanted to remind you to check carefully the reviews you're going to revert when you suspect that you-know-who has come back and is still pushing their files. In addition to that, File:Interior._Venus_06_(cropped).jpg is a photograph of a replica currently in Ukraine and not the original sculpture, which is in the Louvre.

Please feel free to contact me if you need my help for any contribution.

Not my problem department.

Lojwe (talkcontribs)

Just to let you know. I already appealed to administrators and they told me to do what I’m doing. I already tried to contact Tm on his discussion. It’s impossible to resolve disputes with him. It has happened a lot of times. That’s why I’m surprised he’s allowed to do this and nobody does nothing about it. I leave you alone. I just wanna tell you, you could end this absurd dispute easily.

Could you please revert Tm on these pages: Q3375350 and Q3375706? He’s not gonna stop these nonsense editions until someone else reverts him. The things he usually does don’t make sense. I can’t understand how he’s allowed to do this.

Elizium23 (talkcontribs)

@Lojwe, are you asking me to join you, and help "win", in an edit war?

Lojwe (talkcontribs)

I don’t think it’s about joining me, it’s not about winning, because I think “it’s already won” since what Tm is doing is just nonsense. I’d appreciate if someome could put some order and finish this nonsense. I just can’t believe Tm is allowed to do this nonsense things and nobody does nothing about it.

Elizium23 (talkcontribs)

@Lojwe, perhaps instead of roping in other innocent editors, you should appeal to administrators and have the items protected until both of you can use talk pages to resolve your dispute(s). Now leave me alone, I have nothing to do with your petty shit.

About removal of Livio and socks' uploads

Good afternoon @Elizium23, I saw that you're removing the uploads of @Livioandronico2013 and his socks from the articles of Wikidata.

Although, on this matter I remain neutral, I have noticed that in some posts you have removed the images that were there (which were different from the LTA's, since these had already been removed) for trying to undid the socks' contributions.

I simply encourage you to first check where the LTA's images are being used and only revert to those places that are still using them. I, for example, had already reverted some of them (like here or here).

In addition, I have seen that here and here you have removed an image that has been classified as valued and that has nothing to do with the versions (1 and 2) of Commonists (one of Livio's sockpuppets), which does not seem reasonable if we take into account that it was the community itself that decided to use it for both entries.

Of course, if I see any other entry that uses an image from the LTA I will proceed to remove it, but please, check first that the entry that you are going to revert or change the image still uses Livio's photos.

83.61.231.21 (talkcontribs)

Note: I just saw your message. You're welcome. But remember to be sure that an entry currently has a Livio's photograph before revert it.

I can help you in the future if you want.
