[edit]Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the page Q62287521. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. See Help:Merge for more information on how to do this, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks! Bovlb (talk) 22:22, 20 October 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry about that @Bovlb:, didn't realise that. Had tried it before but gave up, however, will do properly next time and might ping you if I still can't manage it. thanks again, and sorry for that. Britishfinance (talk) 15:17, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
Description style
[edit]Hi, I changed the initial letter of the description for Megxit (Q81722501) back to lowercase, per Help:Description#Capitalization: "Descriptions begin with a lowercase letter except when uppercase would normally be required or expected. Essentially, you should pretend that the description is appearing in the middle of a normal sentence, and then follow normal language rules. Most terms would not be capitalized if they appeared in the middle of a sentence." Thanks, Ham II (talk) 22:45, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for that Ham II, my mistake there and noted. Kind regards, Britishfinance (talk) 11:57, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
Please merge instead of blanking
[edit]Thank you for your work in maintaining Wikidata. I have a small suggestion to improve your future work. If you notice that two items are duplicates, please merge them instead of blanking one of them as you did with the page Q7291508. External sites use Wikidata identifiers, so it is important that we preserve the chain of references. We do this by making one item a redirect for the other. In particular, item ids are intended to be a permanent identifier, so we never reuse them for another concept. See Help:Merge for more information on how to merge items, and consider installing the Merge Gadget. Thanks! Bovlb (talk) 23:32, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
