[edit]When setting the language of work or name (P407) qualifier on official website (P856), I load the page contents, analyze it with both langid and langdetect, and then compare the results in order to reduce false positives. When they return different results, I omit the language of work or name (P407) qualifier.
The official website is pulled from ELMCIP which contains thousands of official URLs. To avoid dead links and redirects, this bot checks that the URL resolves and returns an HTTP 200 status code. But this process is not foolproof. Domains can change hands over the years, pages can return incorrect status codes, etc.
