UNF celebrates Autism Acceptance Month
Each April, the University of North Florida recognizes Autism Acceptance Month to promote support, acceptance, and inclusion for those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The UNF THRIVE program has planned engaging and informative events and programs throughout the month to support our ASD students and outreach to the community.
Community outreach initiatives planned for the month include participating in Growing Together Behavioral Center’s “Stand Out for Autism Acceptance,” Jacksonville Autistic Society Inc.’s “3rd Annual Family Fun Day,” Florida Blue Retail Center with PossAbilities networking social hour event, a statewide College/Agency Fair at Southbank Hotel and Riverwalk, and presentations at the Florida Division on Career Development and Transition (FLDCDT) conference.
For UNF students, there will be various team activities and events including a Lego building contest, karaoke, board games, and gaming tournaments.
