葫芦, also known as the Bottle Gourd or Calabash, is a vegetable native to Asia that dates back to 8,000-9,000 B.P.

due to its large and voluminous shape, 葫芦 was traditionally dried and then used as a vessel to transport water, liquor, and medicine.
