Meet the Team

Philip Geiger

During his forty-five year career, Philip Geiger has been active in a wide range of music education disciplines including teacher, music consultant and adjudicator. Philip is also the cofounder of TonalEnergy which began in 2012. Philip has always endeavored to provide musicians of all ages and all skill levels a means by which to improve their individual skills so they can grow as a player and find joy in all their music experiences.

Jesse Chappell

Jesse Chappell is a software developer specializing in music and audio applications. He enjoys playing a variety of instruments when he can pull himself away from the computer. Aside from TonalEnergy, he has developed the popular apps ThumbJam, DrumJam, SonoBus, SooperLooper, and others.

Albert Vela

Albert Vela III has participated and explored many facets of music education throughout his 16 year career. He is currently entering his first year as the Director of Bands at Magnolia High School in Magnolia, TX. Prior to Magnolia HS, Albert served 15 years as an Assistant Director at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, TX where he conducted the Symphonic Band and led the War Eagle Marching Band. In 2022, the Oak Ridge High Brass Ensemble was an invited ensemble at The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, IL. Always exploring new experiences in music performance, Albert is a brass instructor for the 21-time DCI World Champion Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps. He also serves musicians and teachers as the Curriculum and Media Specialist for the TonalEnergy App and is a sought after presenter for all levels of music education. Albert is all about helping musicians of all levels learn and grow throughout their music journey.

Sharon Geiger

After spending 37 years in public education as a teacher and administrator, Sharon Geiger continues to be passionate about teaching and learning. At TE, she aids with administrative and managerial duties as well as sharing best practices in all aspects of instruction and learning. Sharon is glad to be a part of the continuing mission of helping all musicians improve and enjoy all their musical experiences.

Ruben Zilibowitz

Music has always been a critical part of Ruben Zilibowitz’s life, starting with studying classical piano throughout his school years which led to one of his personal compositions being debuted at The Sydney Opera House at age nineteen. Currently Ruben is studying for his masters in pure mathematics and working as a programmer in his hometown of Sydney, Australia. In addition Ruben co-developed the app HarmonyWiz. Ruben is happy to be associated with TonalEnergy as a full stack developer.

Michelle Bilek

Michelle retired from music education in 2021 after a fulfilling career that spanned several Texas school districts. Her most recent position was Assistant Director of Bands at McAdams Junior High School in Dickinson, Texas, where she not only led the band program but also directed the school choirs. Prior to Dickinson she nurtured young musicians in Bay City and began her journey at College Station Junior High. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas (1987). She currently serves students as a private teacher. Michelle is actively involved in helping music educators and school district administrators incorporate TonalEnergy into their curriculum. Her expertise and dedication make her a valuable resource for those seeking to implement this approach in their schools.

Matt Davey

A self-trained tech wizard, Matt has worked on a dazzling array of musical apps and devices. These include Flip for YouTube superstar Andrew Huang, Jamm Pro for Matt Black of Coldcut / Ninja Tunes, Elastic Drums and Elastic FX for the Berlin-based Mouse on Mars Instruments, and many more. Matt is also an avid record collector, gardener and surfer.

Tabatha Cooper Beavers

Tabatha has been a music educator for the past 10 years, inspiring students in the North Houston area. Her most recent full-time teaching position was at Dekaney High School in Spring ISD. A proud alumna of the University of Houston,Tabatha continues to share her expertise by assisting with masterclasses around the Houston area.
Beyond the classroom, Tabatha is passionate about equipping music educators and their students with TonalEnergy. Tabatha is eager to share her knowledge and experience with those interested in incorporating TonalEnergy into their rehearsals and individual practice sessions.
