William Bertie Wolseley was born on 17 August 1797.1 He was the son of Henry Wolseley and Charlotte Elizabeth Halliday.2 He married, firstly, Eliza Earle Daniell, daughter of William Nicholas Daniell, on 11 July 1818.1 He married, secondly, Charlotte Prowett, daughter of Reverend Charles Prowett, on 14 September 1852.1 He died on 7 January 1881 at age 83.1
