     Col. Rt. Hon. Edward Henry Cooper was born on 9 July 1827.1 He was the son of Richard Wordsworth Cooper and Hon. Emilia Elinor de Montmorency.2 He married Charlotte Maria Mills, daughter of Edward Wheler Mills and Frances Ann Wingfield, in August 1858.1 He died on 26 February 1902 at age 74.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Sligo between 1865 and 1868.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Sligo.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Sligo.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Sligo in 1871.1 He lived at Markree Castle, Collooney, County Sligo, IrelandG.1

     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 7th Fusiliers.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Westmeath.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Westmeath in 1875.1 He lived at Dunboden, County Westmeath, IrelandG.1

     Helen Malet Hayden was baptised on 19 December 1838 at Hull, Yorkshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Captain Thomas Hayden and Avice Lodge.3,2 She married Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper, son of Richard Wordsworth Cooper and Hon. Emilia Elinor de Montmorency, in June 1857.1
     From June 1857, her married name became Cooper.

     Maj.-Gen. Edward Joshua Cooper was born on 21 April 1858.1 He was the son of Colonel Joshua Harry Cooper and Helen Malet Hayden.2 He married Effie Balmain, daughter of James Forrest Balmain, in 1894.1 He died on 8 March 1945 at age 86, without issue.1
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He fought in the Tibetan Campaign in 1904, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1904.1 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1906.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Westmeath.1 He was commander of the troops in North China between 1910 and 1914.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He lived at Dunboden, County Westmeath, IrelandG.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1918 in the Royal Fusiliers.1 He lived at The Abbey, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1
