Sir John Augustus Boyd, 4th Bt. was born on 30 July 1819.1 He was the son of Sir John Boyd, 3rd Bt. and Harriet Boyd.1 He married Honora Mary Calmady, daughter of Charles Biggs Calmady and Emily Greenwood, on 14 May 1850 at Plympton St. Mary, Devon, EnglandG.1,2 He died on 7 August 1857 at age 38.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in December 1857.1
He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the capture of St. Jean d'Acre in 1840.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1845.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Boyd, of Danson, co. Kent [G.B., 1775] on 19 January 1855.1
