1. Introduction
• In 2015, all the countries in the United Nations adopted the
2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
• Ethiopia as one of UN member is working on the

implementation of 17 SDGs include no poverty, zero hungry,
good health wellbeing, equitable and quality education, gender
equality, clean water & sanitation, affordable and clean energy,
decent work and economic growth, industry innovation,
reduced inequality, sustainable cities and communications,
responsible consumption & production, climate action, life
below water, life on land, peace $ justice, and, partnership for
goals (UN, 2015).

• In order to improve education quality, Ministry of education

of Ethiopia is implementing new strategies to improve
education quality 2015 E.C onwards. For instance 12th grade
studies have taken university entrance examination at public
universities.
• Also, all undergraduate students at social and natural science
disciplines are going to take national exit exam as the as
certificate of competence in their specialization areas.

 So, national exit exam is emerging issue for both

public and private education institutions operating in
Ethiopia.
 It has began the burring agenda for 2015 E.C
undergraduates in Ethiopia
Why Furra college working on exit exam?
Furra college is working on agenda of exit exam because:
1) The success of the college is dependents on the success of
graduates
2) Number of students passed national exam will be compared with
other private colleges in Ethiopia
3) Employability of graduates is depends on exit exam
4) Popularity of national exit exam result

Why to pass national exit is important?
• It is first criteria to become qualified candidate for

employment in any organization
• It shows your excellent cognitive skills like
remembering and logical reasoning
• It is the prestige, status, and respect for your profession
• It indicates personal competence in field of study

• It shows capacity to solve quantitative and
qualitative questions
• It shows proficiency and technical skills
• It shows potential to understand what you learned in
the whole program
• It shows excellent analysis skills in your field of
study
• It shows knowledge and skills gained while
studying your program
• It increases confidence at workplace when you
employed
Furra College Goal of national exit exam preparation
 To ensure that most of 2015 E.C graduation

class of Furra colleges pass the national exit
exam.
2. Activities have been done by the college
1) Organized exit exam committee
2) Identify exit exam focus areas
3) Experience sharing from other colleges
4) Awareness creation for students

5) Exit Exam blue print for 15 thematic areas in three
departments
6) Model exam has been prepared based on identified thematic areas for 15
course in AcFn, 16 courses in Business Management, and 13 courses in
marketing management total of 44 courses from three departments.
Future activities (Agendas Needs Attention)
• Transfer model exit exam collected from professionals to
concerned bodies of the college
• Operationalization of exit exam blue print
• Checking Information technology facilities for online model
exam
• Recruitment of IT professionals for online exam
• Fixing time to online model exam
• Short Training based on model exam
• Discuss on training fees to be paid by students
• Assign the teachers who will provide training for students
