Introduction/Overview Online versus Face-to-Face teaching The Online Teacher Setting the Stage Building Community Pedagogy Assessment 3
Each module has at least one Signature Assignment that participants submit for grading. These assignments will be compiled and submitted in an ePortfolio. The ePortfolio can be used for interviewing and career advancement opportunities after the course is completed. It is required that assignments are submitted according to the published deadlines. Participants will have access to all deadlines in the Course Calendar. Every assignment has a rubric. Most participants are successful on their assignments because they align their work to the rubric, and assignments can be corrected and resubmitted. The lead facilitator or other course facilitators will comment on assignments and return them so they can improved upon. Please remember to check for these comments. Certification Requirements & Expectations The Leading Edge Certification is a 45 hour course of study with 90 hours of student work, which includes the development of a portfolio. It is expected that participants will typically work six to eight hours per week, for 6 weeks. The participants that usually have the most success in this virtual environment set aside a specific time for their work each week. One of the great things about online courses is the flexibility it provides participants for accessing the course and submitting assignments when it is convenient for the learner.
