Any.do Updates to Version 2.0, Adds Premium Services

Collaboration, sharing, and appending files to tasks? Sounds good to us!

Updated October 31, 2014
Any.do 2.0

Productivity-focused app developer and Web service Any.do has launched an updated version of its task-tracking system. With it comes a brand-new, paid-for model that grants users access to a variety of advanced features for a monthly or annual subscription.

The biggest change hitting the service—aside from the new premium mode—is a series of new features aimed at increasing collaboration and sharing among teams. And we're not just talking about your coworkers and colleagues. As Any.do notes, the new features will allow spouses to share and update mutual grocery lists, to name one frequently-used example.

"Any.do 2.0 was inspired by our users, people who were adopting Any.do in new ways that we hadn't seen before—for their businesses, their families, informal groups of friends planning birthday parties, and work teams organizing major projects," Any.do said in a news release. "They weren't looking for a separate 'business' or 'family' app. They wanted to apply the fluidity and ease of Any.do to all parts of their lives."

Those still using the free version of Any.do will be able to share and collaborate with up to two other Any.do members on every task they make. You'll also be able to add a file (up to 5MB in size) to their tasks from a linked Dropbox account. Or, if you're using Any.do on a smartphone, any kind of audio, picture, or video file on the device can be shared.

Finally, free Any.do users get five "moments" each month, where the app's little daily planner pops up on your device to remind you about all of your ongoing tasks.

The new premium service provides unlimited access to all of the features we've previously mentioned, including the ability to attach files of any size or type to tasks. Premium users also get customizable reminders, location-based reminders, and custom background color options.

Those who elect to sign up for the premium service can take advantage of a limited-time pricing option that puts the cost at $3 monthly or $27 annually. After the promo ends, or once it's time to renew your premium Any.do service, the price bumps up to $5 monthly and $45 annually.
