ANGOLA — Children in need are being served this Christmas season through the Samaritan’s Purse project, Operation Christmas Child. Individuals, families and groups have the opportunity to pack a shoebox gift filled with fun toys, school supplies and personal care items and drop them off now during National Collection Week, through Sunday.

Be still. That is easy to say, but does God realize the noises that surround me every day? About 1,000 yards away is a highway along which large trucks, ambulances, firetrucks and police speed on critical missions. In spite of all that, I still must follow His counsel.

If the issues in our nation are spiritual and not political, change will not come through leadership until God’s people follow the explicit instructions given to them to bring it about. It’s not “rocket science."

When was the last time that you came in on people in the break area at work and everyone in the room was expressing how thankful they were that they had a job and that they had good health that enabled them to come each day to do their jobs?

EL CENTRO— Calvary Chapel El Centro hosted a ladies’ worship night with the theme “Pressing Towards the Goal” on Friday, Nov. 15 at 1923 Austin Rd. The worship night included uplifting music and messages and gave women in the community the chance to connect. 

Joyce Elaine (Laderoute) Warden will celebrate turning 80 on Nov. 5, 2024. She was born on Nov. 5, 1944, in St. Joseph, to Anna Maude (Stuart) Laderoute and Estel Laderoute.
