Export candidates to your Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) system

Last updated: 2 months ago

CRM Connect is an integration between LinkedIn Recruiter and your Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) system. There are two ways to export candidates to your CRM:

  • InMail Stub Profile
  • 1-Click Export

Important to know

You can only export the candidate’s information if their profile privacy settings allow their information to be accessed outside of LinkedIn. Some members may have profile settings that prevent you from exporting their information. See Off-LinkedIn Visibility to learn about profile visibility.

Export from the InMail Stub Profile

You can export from the InMail Stub Profile only if:

  • The candidate has set their profile privacy settings such that their information can be accessed outside of LinkedIn.
  • The candidate has responded to an InMail message, including clicking Accept or Decline

If the candidate replies to your InMail, they will receive a pop-up prompting them to share their contact information, which will be exported to your CRM. If they share their information the following may also be exported:

  • Current employer's name
  • Current title
  • First name
  • Headline
  • Last name
  • Location
  • Unique ID of the member
  • URL of the member's public LinkedIn profile

1-Click Export

A recruiter on your contract can export up to 300 exports per user, per month. One export is defined as an export of one LinkedIn member to one talent pipeline in a connected CRM.

Important to know

Some fields in 1-Click Export are enabled by your CRM. If a field is missing from your export, contact your CRM to ensure you have the latest version of the widget. CRM Connect basic 1-Click Export allows you to include a manually-entered note in your export.

To export a candidate to your CRM pipeline:

  1. Find your candidate(s) with Recruiter Search and/or Recommended Matches.

  2. Click the More icon on the candidate’s profile and click Export to [CRM Name] CRM.

  3. In the 1-Click Export menu, you can select from the following options:

    • Select a pipeline or multiple pipelines to export to.
    • Optionally add notes to the candidate’s profile.
  4. Click Export to export the candidate’s name, job title, location, company, LinkedIn profile link, and candidate source (e.g., “LinkedIn”) to the external CRM.

1-Click Export will export the following:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Profile URL
  • Headline
  • Location
  • Source (“LinkedIn”)
  • Notes (if manually entered by the recruiter into the Notes field in the Export to your CRM window)
  • Available in Enhanced 1-Click Export only:
    • Education
    • Experience, including the last 2 experiences only.
    • Top 3 skills, including the 2 most recent “highlighted skills” if available
    • Years of experience
    • Email(s), if manually entered by the recruiter into the Candidate email field in the Export to your CRM window

The Export to CRM section on the profile will show all export activity for that profile, including the date and time of the export, the CRM, and the selected pipeline.

Important to know

Pipeline data must be published by your CRM and then synced with LinkedIn. LinkedIn then matches candidates with the correct pipeline, which allows you to successfully export candidates. Please reach out to your CRM representative to ensure your pipeline is synced to LinkedIn.
