The first progressive design-build project in Kansas included upgrades to more than 4 miles of arterial streets, three multi-lane roundabouts, shared-use paths, two simple span bridges and more. It's all part of the largest economic development in the state's history. Proud to partner with Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and Clarkson Construction Company as lead designer on the 103rd Street improvements in De Soto. https://lnkd.in/g_yZ6SCW

Atlas Agro is on a mission to transform the United States fertilizer industry. Their new Pacific Green Fertilizer Plant is designed to produce more than a half-million tons of low-carbon nitrate fertilizer every year, using green hydrogen created by electrolysis and renewable energy. We partnered with Atlas Agro on the front end of the plant’s development, leading permitting assistance and supporting a key U.S. Department of Agriculture grant. https://lnkd.in/gSwkhb6m Renderings: Atlas Agro

For decades, the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority transferred solid waste from the Tinker Creek Landfill to the Smith Gap Landfill along a 33-mile railway route. When an agreement with the rail carrier was scheduled to expire, RVRA began to explore an alternative solution: truck hauling. Our team played a key role in that conversion, laying out options and guiding implementation. The result: significant annual savings for RVRA. https://lnkd.in/gGUN7VtS #WasteManagement #WasteHauling #Consulting

Meet Liora Grushcow, engineering co-op (intern) based in Toronto, Ontario where she is developing her career in transportation while attending the University of Toronto. The ability to use technical tools to help address social issues was what attracted her to a career in engineering. She is working on several battery electric bus projects, and the Sheppard Subway Extension, in Toronto. “It’s a rewarding area of work because there are people who don’t have easy transportation routes, and because of my studies, I can give them one. I get to take a skill that I have and make an impact on individuals’ lives every day,” says Liora. This summer there are nearly 350 interns and co-ops at HDR around the world, each bringing unique skills and doing meaningful work to grow in their careers. Thank you, interns and co-ops for all that you do at HDR. #InternAppreciation
