The last quarter of the year is the busiest for lawyers. Connect with your clients to check on any remaining needs. Express your gratitude for the opportunity to work with them this year, and discuss their goals for 2025. 🌐 Referral sources. Your network is a good source of new clients. Meet with key contacts to explore potential opportunities. 📝 Thought leadership. Are there conferences at which you can speak? An article or blog post to write discussing an upcoming change in the law or an industry trend? 🎯 Setting goals. What do you want to achieve next year? Do you want to expand relationships with existing clients? Develop new clients? The question isn’t if but when. We all hit a speed bump in our careers. When it happens, it is unsettling. How to manage those moments is not something you learn in law school or in undergraduate school. So, what do you do when you find yourself in one of these moments? Dan Harris found himself in this exact spot several times in his very successful career as a TV anchor, journalist and author. He is also known for a very successful app he co-founded called Ten Percent Happier, and just announced that he was leaving the company due to differences with his co-founders. This change was definitely not something he envisioned as the app and related business opportunities have been wildly successful.
