It does that with Cunning Stunts too. No idea what spotify's problem is but they really should fix it.

I think this may be #2 in my Cows rankings behind only Sorry in Pig Minor. Or maybe not. But either way, this is a fucking awesome album. Side 1 in particular is perfection.

Years later and now hopefully wiser (probably not) I've given up trying to rank the Cows' albums and just accepted that, as one of my all time favorite bands, all of their stuff is indispensable to me and I could never live without a single one of their albums. But yes, this one rules for days.

This one sometimes gets the short end of the stick in light of its following in the wake of Cunning Stunts, which most fans hold as the band's peak, but track for track this one matches up favorably with Cunning Stunts and any other Cows LP. "Blown," "Shitbeard," "Ch," the title track, "Uptown Suckers"... these songs fucking rule. People throw the term "underrated" around a lot and generally it's in regards to band who at least got some recognition and respect, but the Cows were written off almost completely by the public and critics alike, and that's a goddamn shame because they were one of the best groups in the whole landscape of post-punk. One of the most insane guitarists ever, one of the best bassists ever and a front man who combined attitude, intelligence and feeling... I'm overflowing with admiration for these guys.
