my guess is that he's trying to preserve his vocal chords. if you watch/listen to live videos from 4 years ago, he was doing something very different with his voice.

major disappointment from the finer things. major commercial approach which is fine I get it for what they're trying to do but lacks all of the rawness from the previous releases. just another pop-punk band with very little to set them apart from any of the other 100's of artists doing the exact same thing....
