Beaumont police are investigating the second murder of the year.

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a man accused of dumping two German Shepherd dogs. It happened on County Road 497, midway between Jasper and Kirbyville.

Jasper Police took a report from an employee of a local wrecker company in which he said that a man was accused of breaking into the Jasper Towing storage yard at the intersection of Highway 63 West at Farm to Market Road 777.

Two pickup trucks hit a large oak tree that fell across a highway in front of them and one of the drivers was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for evaluation. It happened shortly before 7:00 on Recreational Road 255 near County Road 60.
