Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman slits her own throat. Not too much graphic detail, but still bloody. Her friend runs up behind to catch her body as she falls to the floor.
  • A young woman is brutally stabbed. While we do not see the act onscreen there are many shots of the aftermath.
  • A woman shoots a family.
  • Four people are swiftly killed with a shotgun blast to the chest (although one is merely unconscious). Blood splatters around them.
  • A woman is shown partly unconscious with her whole body mutilated.
  • A woman is seen wincing for several seconds, it is implied that her backside is being cut. It is revealed in a later scene that she has been skinned alive, and her state is shown in graphic detail throughout the final scenes of the film. The only part of her skin that is not removed is her face, arguably making the scenario even more disturbing.
  • A woman shoots herself through the mouth offscreen. The scene cuts before any violence is shown.
  • A young woman is beat up throughout most of the second half.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A ghoul attacks a woman on several different occasions. It claws at her and chases her.
  • The flaying scene near the end of the film is EXTREMELY disturbing and traumatising. This will leave an impact long after watching.
  • There scene where Anna finds the martyred woman in the basement is extremely hard to watch and depressing.
