Expedition Rewards
This expedition only has cash rewards, as you'll get 2200 for completing it. You can also earn up to 1000 extra if you recover your truck less than two times.
Expedition Tips
During this expedition, you'll be driving around the area surrounding the training base, since you don't need to carry any special equipment, choose a scout truck that's small and can move relatively fast.
We went with the Cotco Canyon SR-i, which has a B- in power, and a B- in strength but an A+ in fuel consumption, so it's ideal for driving around searching for stuff.
No matter what truck you use for this expedition, we recommend upgrading your suspension with a piece that gives you better ground clearance. The extra height will help while traversing terrains with height differences like the one you'll be exploring during this mission.
Moreover, we only had four available slots in our inventory, so we only brought one anchor and one jack-screw for this expedition.
Expedition Requirements
For this expedition, you'll need to use the Metal Detector. To attach it to your truck, go to the customization menu, then to the Exterior Tab and scroll down to the Roof section. There, you'll be able to attach the Metal Detector for free.

Starting the Expedition
This expedition takes place at the Field Operation Base, there you'll need to move to the first quest mark to start.
During this expedition, you'll learn how to use the Metal Detector, a gadget that gives you information about the location and range of certain objects. If the indicators on the metal detector turn white, it means that there are objects to search within a radius of 200 meters. If you get close enough to an object the signal will change colors to alert you what type of object is nearby. Resources are red, items are blue and upgrade parts are green. During this expedition, your objective will be to find one of each category.
The first thing you should do is open up your mini-map, there you’ll see three big yellow circles indicating the areas you need to search for each object.
Finding the Item
Let’s start with the circle shown below
Here you want to go up towards the mountain ledge shown in the picture below where you’ll find an item right next to an Air Drop.
If you use your drone to scout the area, you’ll see there’s a path right next to the object, use it to safely go up.

Finding the Resource
Now let's go to the closest yellow circle to find the Resource
Here you want to exit camp and move towards the area shown below, where you’ll find the resource right next to another AirDrop.
Pick up the object and move towards the last yellow circle.
Finding the Upgrade
There, you want to go inside the canyon
Where you’ll see the upgrade part right next to the highrange upgrade (which you should get too since you’re already there).

Getting to the canyon can be a little tricky, what we did to get there was cross to the other side through the ditch shown below. Of course, the truck got stuck but using the wench on the nearby trees worked to pull us out of there.
Collect the last object to complete this expedition.
That completes Nearby Areas. Next up in the Walkthrough is Stone Ford.
