Heavy Load
Heavy Load is a Sonoran Desert, Arizona, expedition in Expeditions: A MudRunner Game that has you tow a fallen truck, the Step 310E back to base. You will unlock the Central Outpost and the Radar with this mission.

Complete Mystery of the Red Water | In one of our last expeditions, the weather conditions changed dramatically. We were forced to return to the base. Because of our haste, one of our trucks got stuck somewhere in the quarry, and we didn't have time to fix its coordinates. We ask you to find this truck and deliver it to the evacuation point. | 5,900 Prepayment, 39,000 Payment, Step 310E (Truck Shop), Radar (Frame Module), Central Outpost |

Expedition Tips
The mission objectives sound simple enough:
- Deliver the Step 310E truck to the outpost
But there's a big catch: you have to travel to another map... or two. Heavy Load is a long towing mission that requires you to travel a distance of 4,600 meters -- in reality, you'll have to pack way more fuel since you're pulling a heavy load for part of that journey. You'll also need plenty of pulling power, so if you've got one, choose the Tatra FORCE T815-7 for the job. It helps to equip a more powerful engine, too. It's possible to use another truck with lots of pulling power, like the Step 310E, but you're going to have a much easier time if you complete this mission after getting yourself the biggest truck in the fleet.
Make sure to maximize your fuel storage. Given the distance, we don't recommend bringing two trucks along. Instead, upgrade/customize your vehicle for fuel storage. Bring all the fuel you can, and have several anchors (at least two sets of five) and Jack-Screws on hand as well. If you've got the money, bring Specialists that help you extend winch length and power, boost fuel efficiency, and perhaps improve drone range since you're heading into uncharted territory.
When you're ready to set out, do NOT just accept a default starting location. Despite it being a Sonoran Desert expedition, you're starting on the Grand Canyon map -- and You're heading to the southeastern gateway to Coconino, so make sure you switch your starting location to the South Outpost.
Map a path to the Coconino Gateway. By now, you've driven this route before, but remember that this journey requires a lot of fuel. That means, whenever you can, switch out of 4WD mode and inflate your tires fully to get maximum fuel efficiency.
If you got stuck on this path and wasted fuel, it's worth recovering to base, refueling, and try again. Once you're farther into the mission you'll have to be way more careful as you no longer have the luxury of an easy trip back to base.
Throughout your journey, you should use both your binoculars and your drone to scout the area around you. There are some random Air Drop locations you can leverage -- you can refer to our interactive MudRunner maps for the possible locations or just keep scanning what's nearby. If a drop's on your path, stop and refuel and get spare parts to fix any damage.
For example, there's a possible Air Drop halfway through the Coconino map that doesn't require much of a detour -- if you've got the trade-by-drone Specialist perk, you can even refuel from the main path.
The second half of Coconino features flat terrain -- turn off AWD and save as much fuel as you can. Things will get rockier. You'll have to travel through a second Gateway to get to your target destination.
Once you get to the Sonoran Desert, you'll see... not much, probably. If you haven't taken a peek before, much of the map will be blacked out. Remember, you can scope the ahead with your binoculars (which will fill in terrain features) or use your drone to scout the path ahead to see more.
To make it easier for you, here's a recommended path from the gateway to your pick-up destination. There is an alternate path that sees you take the left branch once you get to the watery area, but it'll cost you more fuel and isn't an easy drive, either.
As you can see from the map above, there is a possible Air Drop location right along the path. If you discover it with your drone, make a quick stop to get more fuel.
The toughest parts of the journey involve two very steep, rocky climbs. There really isn't an easy path up the two ledges to get to the top of the mesa, so hopefully you brought plenty of anchors with you.
The key to making it over the large rocks and rubble is to find the right angle with your tire, drive up as much as you can (4WD on, tire pressure lowered), put on the brakes, place an anchor above, and winch yourself up (with brakes off). Then put the brakes on again and attach the winch to the rear of the truck and again to the same anchor to move up higher. Place another anchor when you need to change direction and get up higher.
You'll have to do this twice, then it's time to plot and adjust your course to the stuck truck. Yes, you can absolutely fit through this narrow trench.
The Step 310E to be towed is stuck in a muddy pit --and it's backwards. But you don't need to drive close to get it out. Just manually attach the winch to tow it backwards, bring it over to the flat area, then carefully navigate around it to turn it around. You want it to be driving forward.
You don't need to go back the exact same way you came as you've got a new destination. But there are some tricky areas that may require you to cross an ledge or drive up a climb without the truck in tow, re-attach the Step 310 and pull it in close from a save spot. It's not a good idea to always have it following you bumper-to-bumper.
Don't be wasteful with your fuel. Once you to deliver the truck tot its target destination you still have one final part of the mission left to complete. If you've got the extended range Specialist perk for your drone, you can do this without driving another meter. If not, carefully drive into the target destination as shown and then fly your drone from there. You can map the entire circle from the center.
That's it! Congratulations, you've completed another tricky towing mission and you've finally unlocked the Central Outpost, so you don't have to traverse two whole maps just to get to Sonora again. You can also now equip the Radar frame module on your Tatra FORCE and other elible trucks, which will greatly speed up exploring/mapping uncharted territory.
