Phone Calls

If you are deaf, have hearing loss or are speech impaired, Relay UK is a free service, can connect you to a relay assistant to make a phone call. The relay assistant can:

  • Type what the caller is saying so you can read their responses, if you can’t hear
  • Read your written responses to the caller, if you can’t speak.

Internet

Our websites have been designed to be as accessible as possible. We are always improving our sites per the guidelines laid down by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) and the RNIB. In addition, our customers can change their browser settings to make it easier for them to use the internet. For example, to enlarge text in Safari/Chrome/Edge perform the following steps:

Change the text size for a website on Safari

  • Phone calls or video calls
  • Via email or through our website
  • Face-to-face appointments in your own home or at an alternative venue to our branch
  • Portable hearing loops are available on request (48 hours’ notice required)

  • On your computer, open Chrome

  • At the top right, click More More. Next to 'Zoom', choose the zoom options that you want.
  • Make everything larger: Click Zoom in Zoom in.
  • Make everything smaller: Click Zoom out Zoom out.
  • Use full-screen mode: Click Full-screen Full screen.
  • You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in or out.

  • Make everything large

  • Windows and Linux: Press Ctrl and +.
  • Mac: Press ⌘ and +.
  • Chrome OS: Press Ctrl and +.

  • Make everything smaller

  • Windows and Linux: Press Ctrl and -.
  • Mac: Press ⌘ and -.
  • Chrome OS: Press Ctrl and -.

  • Use full-screen mode

  • Windows and Linux: Press F11.
  • Mac: Press ⌘ + Ctrl + f.
  • Chrome OS: At the top of your keyboard, press the full-screen key Full-screen. This key is also called F4.

Increase default text size in Microsoft Edge

You can change the font size in the new Microsoft Edge
Select Settings and More > Settings > Appearance.
Under Fonts, choose a font size. You can also customize the size and style of fonts used in Microsoft Edge by selecting Customize fonts on the same page.
