When we implemented HeyTaco we had no idea that it was going to be such a huge piece of our R&R program. From Day 1, our Team has enbraced having virtual tacos (big for us Texas folks) to share as we recognize others for their efforts. As we have brough on new Teams (both organically and inorganically), they quickly start throwing out tacos to others. It's been a great program for us and has only accelerated in speed and volume since we started using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I have not found anything about the program that does not work well for us. We are so happy with it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sending a taco is such an easy way to show appreciation for a colleague - it's just an emoji and an @. But somehow the addition of the taco makes the appreciation feel more sincere than just a 'Thanks'. It's a way to spread tiny moments of positivity throughout the workday. I would kind of like to be able to 'earn' more tacos a day to give out than 5. We earn stickers, but I recently discovered that colleagues had been earning different stickers than me, even though I'm the second highest taco user in my team! Giving more tacos unlocks an 'avatar' but this doesn't do anything - I feel like I should be able to give more tacos than 5 a day, it would encourage greater useage for people to feel like they are unlocking something meaningful. It's a great way to show appreciation org-wide. The only thing better than receiving a taco is giving a taco! Simple to use and seamless to implement. I use it everyday. The integration was simple to set up. It has lots of different features that I love to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't see any downsides. Everything about the tool is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish there were more report running options as we currently have to reach out to HeyTaco representatives to get specific reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Allows our team to celebrate each other daily in a fun and creative way, as well as brings transparency to our work and accomplishments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We've been using HeyTaco for several years and there isn't anything I dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The integration with Slack works really well, building on the natural activity of adding a (taco) emoji to a post. For new employees, no explanation is required. It's easy to understand. Anecdotally, this tool has been really good for morale. I've used other tools and the fact that this is right in Slack and you don't have to write an essay to send some kudos makes a huge difference. Most if not all team members send or receive tacos on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Notifications can be a little verbose, but I'm really reaching for negatives. This is a slick little app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Because we are mostly remote, Hey Taco lets us recognize the big and little things that make a difference in our workday, and it is ALWAYS nice to see a taco from someone who is thanking you. The task is minimal, but the impact is major. It can turn a meh day into a nice one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is NO down side to saying "I appreciate you." Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HeyTaco has proven to be an outstanding platform for fostering positive team dynamics and appreciation. The simplicity and fun it brings to recognizing team members are unmatched. The taco-based reward system adds a delightful touch, turning routine expressions of gratitude into a lighthearted and engaging experience. The integration with Slack makes it seamless to acknowledge and celebrate achievements in real-time, enhancing the overall team spirit.
Overall, HeyTaco is a fantastic addition to any team collaboration platform, injecting a sense of fun and camaraderie into everyday interactions. Despite minor drawbacks, its ability to uplift team morale and strengthen connections makes it a valuable tool for fostering a positive workplace culture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While HeyTaco excels in promoting a positive work environment, one potential drawback is the temptation for users to focus more on accumulating tacos rather than the quality of their contributions. Some may see it as more of a game than a genuine recognition tool. Additionally, the limited customization options for the taco-based rewards may leave some users wanting more personalization to better suit their team culture. Love to be able to redeem tacos for prizes at HHS, plus the weekly updates we can see how well we are doing personally and how good the team are at giving out out tacos etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing i really dislike about the app really Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I appreciate most about HeyTaco is its seamless integration into our daily communication tool, Slack, which makes it incredibly easy to share positive feedback and express gratitude. This feature has been instrumental in cultivating a culture of appreciation and recognition within my team. Using emojis and hashtags, we can instantly acknowledge a job well done or thank a colleague for their assistance, which encourages a continuous positive feedback loop.
The simplicity of HeyTaco is one of its most vital points. There's no need for lengthy emails or formal recognition systems; a taco emoji suffices to show someone they've made a difference. This ease of use significantly lowers the barrier to giving compliments, ensuring that good work and helpful gestures are recognized promptly and frequently.
Moreover, HeyTaco aligns perfectly with our company's ethos of uplifting and celebrating the aspirational aspects of our culture. It's not just about giving out virtual tacos—it's about reinforcing the behaviors and values we hold dear as a team. Each taco given reflects our collective commitment to support, encourage, and value one another.
HeyTaco is more than just a recognition tool; it's a cultural catalyst that promotes positivity, enhances morale, and builds a more supportive work environment. It's a delightful, user-friendly way to make someone's day. I believe it's an essential tool for any team looking to foster a culture of continuous appreciation and positive reinforcement. While there is much to love about HeyTaco, there is one limitation that I find slightly restrictive – the daily limit on the number of tacos I can distribute. As someone who is not an admin, my ability to give out tacos is capped each day, which sometimes leaves me wishing I could spread just a bit more appreciation around.
On particularly collaborative days, when many teammates are going above and beyond, I find myself running out of tacos to give, which can be a bit frustrating. I understand the necessity of limiting the number of tacos to maintain their value and prevent inflation within the system, but as a non-admin, it feels like a missed opportunity to fully acknowledge my colleagues' efforts. HeyTaco is easy to integrate into your team and fosters a culture of acknowledgement of success! With HeyTaco I feel like I can go beyond just saying "thanks" and reach out to folks with a more tangible indicator of graditude. And as a user, I feel great when my coworkers/leaders send me tacos and I can see a tangible value to the thanks they give. But more valuable than that, it reminds me every single day to make space to offer thanks and kudos to my coworkers which makes work a more positive and collaborative space! Sometimes the HeyTaco integration awards tacos in a confusing way where the intended recipient doesn't receive tacos which is always a bummer. I also wish I understood the leveling system? Levels seem to appear from nowhere and the new Tacotar system has a lot of the same issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our company uses HeyTaco to be able to give our peers the recognition that they deserve for their wins. I've definitely noticed a huge difference in community engagement which is not limited to our own teams, and really appreciate the way we are able to support and uplift each other. I love the gamification and cuteness aspect as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly not much! I think the app does what it's supposed to do very well and very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is too expensive. We only use it because Salesforce pays for it on our behalf as a nonprofit dedicated to the SFCC community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a great way to show your gratitude towards colleagues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much to dislike but I wish it did not have a taco limit or more clear when responding with tacos that you may run out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Excellent for company morale! I love how it gamifies encouraging your peers. While it's fun to see how many tacos you've received, it's even more fun to see how that compares to the number of tacos you've given to others. I use it every day. Hey taco's integration with Slack has made peer-to-peer encouragement easy and fun and I love telling people outside of our organization about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this point, I don't know that there's anything I dislike other than not having more tacos to give, but the stickers help out with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is a great way to recognize colleagues for successes, achievements, and the day to day things they do that make an impact on you and others. Really great tool for recognition at a remote company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can only give 5 tacos a day and everyone I work with is great, so I want to give more! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think that I get a little overwhelmed by the amount of notifications that I get (the sticker updates are a lot) - I'd rather get one sticker update at the end of the week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's such a fun way to celebrate the little (and big!) things that our team does. It helps us feel closer even when we're distributed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are no real downsides except that it can sometimes be confusing when you want to give tacos to multiple people and blow your taco budget for the day because the system multiplied. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
