How To Buy Flood Insurance

Ready to purchase flood insurance?

Flood insurance gives you financial protection and peace of mind.

Whether it’s a major flood event or a few inches of water in your home, flood insurance helps you protect the life you’ve built.

Call your insurance agent or company today.

Whether you’re buying a new policy or renewing an existing policy, you can buy flood insurance by calling your insurance company or calling your local independent agent, who can write flood insurance directly with the NFIP.

Need help finding an insurance provider?

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) partners with more than 50 private insurance companies and the NFIP Direct to sell and service flood insurance policies.

If you don’t have an insurance company or if your insurance agent does not sell flood insurance, use the NFIP insurance provider locator to find a provider near you.

Make sure your community participates in the NFIP.

As of March 23, 2023, there are about 22,600 communities participating in the NFIP. To purchase NFIP flood insurance, you must live in a participating community.
