Born in Cardiff, South Wales, Shakin' Stevens, the Singer / Songwriter also known as Shaky, formed his first band at the age of 15, and through various incarnations of his band he continued to perfect his craft.
Stevens’ first solo signing was to Track Records, but just as his album was being released, Track went into liquidation. At the same time, Jack Good invited him to co-star in what was to become an award-winning West End musical. The musical brought Shaky to the attention of CBS, who signed him on the Epic label, world-wide. Working with Muff Winwood as Shaky’s A&R, Shakin’ Stevens became the biggest selling artist of a decade, also establishing him as a unique, platinum-selling, International artist. Stevens has collaborated musically with many world-renowned musicians, including Roger Taylor, Albert Lee, Hank Marvin, Bonnie Tyler, Rod Argent and Tony Joe White, also with some of the most astute rock and country blues-aware session musicians in Britain and Nashville.
