Quarantined And Still Running Things!
Fluid was born in Oakland, CA. From the moment he came home from the hospital he was introduced to the wonderful world of music. From the nursery rhymes and children’s songs his mother and aunts would sing to him, gospel hymns heard in church, or the top 40 jazz and R&B hits his father would listen to, music always played a part in Fluid’s daily life.
While in elementary school, Fluid began taking piano and drumming lessons, and soon became a member of a performance band started by his music teacher. It was also during this time that he first became exposed to Run DMC, LL Cool J, Boogie Down Productions, Eric B. & Rakim, Too Short and many other rap pioneers and innovators. However, it wasn't until junior highschool, during an eighth grade English class at Alvarado Middle School in Union City, CA, that he would realize his own ability to perform and write music. He was asked to do a poetry assignment and decided to turn his poem into a rap and perform it in front of the class for fun. The entire class including the teacher gave him rave reviews and soon Fluid began writing other raps to perform at school for his friends.
The following year Fluid entered high school and began participating in talent shows and free style contests garnering even more attention and respect as an artist. After graduating from James Logan High School in Union City, CA, Fluid began taking his love for music and performance to even bigger stages and soon learned how to record his own original songs. As the years passed by Fluid would continue to develop as an artist opening for many artists including Suga Free, DJ Quik, Philthy Rich, D-Lo, and Xzibit and has also contributed songs to several compilation albums produced by and featuring local Bay Area artists. He has also collaborated with many artists and producers including The Mekanix, 4Rax, Suga Free, Prohoezak, CMT Miraculous, Sonny B., and Casual of The Hieroglyphics Imperium. Fluid soon launched his own independent record label/entertainment company, Fluid Motion Music & Entertainment in order to release, market, and promote his latest projects. He is currently promoting several singles, and is putting the finishing touches on his debut EP Project, "Fluitopia" as well as untitled projects with Cleetus Kasiody of the K.I.L. Committee/Breathe Music Inc. and an up and coming rapper from Brooklyn called Rawmel.
