Cheb Kader, born Kouider Morabet in 1966 in Oran, Algeria, from Moroccan origins, is a singer, songwriter/composer, and a pioneer of rai music in France since 1985. Initiator of both Raï Beur, Pop Raï and New Raï, fusing Funk and Reggae, Hip Hop and Urban Music to traditional sounds of Arab music, forging a more glamorous Raï with his music style. Cheb Kader was barely nine years old when he joined his father in France. His father, being a musician himself, encouraged him to study music. In 1982, Cheb Kader produces his first demo in Paris and starts his music adventure. His meeting with Michel Levy in 1985 will allow him to record his first album “Reggaie Raï” 1986, followed by the release of his eponym album entitled "Cheb Kader" in 1988, with famous hits such as “Sid El Houari” and “Sel Dem Draï”, touring internationally in Europe, the Maghreb, Japan and the USA. Amongst his albums “Best Of” in 1991, "Mani” with Polydor Universal in 2002 and “Dima Rai” in 2009. Cheb kader is preparing for his newest album, of which he has released "Nadia" and "Liyem in 2020.
