Amandine Bourgeois, one of today’s most beautiful French voices, is back with a new album entitled M.E.U.F, a French acronym for one thousand and one women, and slang for “girl”.
Amandine channels and appropriates the emotions of the women whose paths she has crossed and with whom she shared laughter and sorrows. The uniting thread of this album is a young woman’s raw emotions, born out of her thirst for life. This comes to the fore in the track “Minimum”, and is contrasted in “Je Crie La Vie” where other beautiful female voices join Amandine to express her anguish at drifting in a world without anchors.
The songs echo emotional struggle through anger, revolt, fragility, melancholy and the pangs of passing time, but the music soon gives way to Amandine’s bubbling energy, her deep-rooted optimism her laughter, and above all her unwavering determination to follow her dreams, creating a whirlwind of joy.
