LOVELINE is an emocore band from Essen. Formed in 2018, the band's sound is inspired by some of their favorite artists such as Propagandhi, A Wilhelm Scream and Strike Anywhere. Combined with a touch of 2000’s emo sensibility akin to bands like Funeral For A Friend and Thursday, their music is fast, intricate and technical, as well as highly melodic and emotionally driven.
Thrashing guitar riffs set to hardcore drumming beyond 180 BPM contrast with calm, atmospheric interludes. Singer Lucas seamlessly switches between singing and shouting, leading the way through songs that deliberately don't follow a verse-chorus pattern in order to maintain constant tension.
In 2024, they released their debut album "Unrest" with support from their label My Ruin. Anxiety and rage characterize the album's themes; its title, “Unrest”, refers to both one's personal inner turmoil as well as the troubled state of the world. Songs written in the midst of a global pandemic, multiple intra- and international wars and personal struggles with depression set the tone. However, "Unrest" also contains a sense of reconciliation and gratitude: for example, through the realization that sometimes transience can be a beautiful thing, like in the closing track “This Island Earth”.
