SECRET AGENT hit the scene in Mexico City as a PSY SPY INSTRO SURF band with RICK DELIZ (Guitars), RACK AGUIRRE (Bass) and ALIS EMERSON (Drums), with special guest JUAN J. COVARRUBIAS (recording Synths on all tracks). The trio have toured parts of Mexico, Puerto Rico, United States and South America.
SECRET AGENT fuses classic sounds from the golden days of Instrumental Surf, Psychedelia, Post Punk and admiring the distant twang of film scores from Spy movies & Spaghetti Westerns, whilst never forgetting that all essential ingredient of Rock N´ Roll.
Debut EP 'Pedro Pistola Piñata Party' was released December 22, 2017 offering instrumental interpretations of retro classic hits produced by Scott Hackwith (Ramones / Spritualized), recorded at Cassette Recordings in Los Angeles, CA., and mastered by multi-Grammy winner Gavin Lurssen (Billy Idol / Reverend Horton Heat) of Lurssen Mastering.
The animated video clip for their debut single 'Peter Gunn Theme’ (a Henry Mancini classic) was created by Alex 'Garbage' Fernández (Los Esquizitos). The singles 'Peter Gunn Theme' & 'Penetration' received media support in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Europe and the United States.
In August 2018 they ended their 44 date 'Pedro Pistola Piñata Tour' and by May 2019 they released their 2nd EP 'Mata Hari' consisting of original instrumentals & Spanish vocal collaborations with Vince (Rebel Cats), Marcela Viejo (Quiero Club) and singer/poet Carlos Ann (Bushido). The EP is available thru KAFADAN KONTAK RECORDS (Istanbul, Turkey) and received media support in Europe, South America, Central America, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada and United States.
'A Pair Of Aces' CD was released December 2020 (a compilation combining both EPs and two bonus tracks) on DOUBLE CROWN RECORDS (Washington, USA).
In February 2021 the single 'Moros En La Costa' was released on digital platforms. It was recorded at Canna-Diablo Studios in Isabela, Puerto Rico during the pandemic, produced by D'Jeleu Javier and out on the band's own label TRIPLE AGENT RECORDS. The single is also featured on a double LP (vinyl) compilation 'Surf You Next Tuesday 2 The Revenge!' on OTITIS MEDIA RECORDS (Texas, USA), to be released early 2022.
In late May 2021, SECRET AGENT recorded the rest of the 'Moros En La Costa' EP at Topetitud Studios (Mexico City), produced by Esteban 'Crunchy' López (Lost Acapulco). They released the 2nd single 'Man In The Middle' on September 24th and 3rd single 'Stasi Romeo' was released December 24th. The complete EP will be released March 2022 w/ special guest vocalist Daniel Gutiérrez (La Gusana Ciega) on 'Loaded Gun' a English sung track (with the official video clip). Closing out the EP are the instrumentals: 'Kompromat' and 'Honeytrap'.
SECRET AGENT finished out 2021 touring Mexico while recording the instrumental 'Spymaster' and a collaboration with Robert Lopez (El Vez) with a Rockabilly-ish tune 'I'm Not A Spy (I'm Your Guy)', to be released Summer 2022 on digital and 7" vinyl format on FACTORY OF AWESOME RECORDS (Mexico).
