In the space of just a few years, Adèle Charvet has established herself as one of the most talented French mezzo-sopranos of her generation.
She made her opera debut in the role of Mercedes in Carmen at the Royal Opera House. Since then her career has taken flight, with critical acclaim for her rich, velvety, sensitively vibrant voice.
Since 2015 she has engaged in a duo partnership with pianist Florian Caroubi, born of their joint passion for the German Lied, and together with him she won the Song Prize at the International Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition, then the Grand Prize at the IVC Competition at ’s-Hertogenbosch, and four of its special prizes.
Recently she has appeared in Benvenuto Cellini in Berlin, under the baton of John Eliot Gardiner, also at the BBC Proms, at Versailles, in Roméo et Juliette at the Opéra- Comique, The Barber of Seville at the Capitole de Toulouse, and Pelléas et Mélisande at the Opéra de Rouen.
In 2019 she recorded Long Time Ago, a programme of American and English song. Since then her wide-ranging tastes have manifested themselves in record projects exploring a whole wealth of repertoire of all styles and periods, from chamber music to opera.
