Since 2013, PEREZ has been creating his own definition of french pop by infusing many electronic influences in his work, drawing its inspiration from New Wave, R&B, Chicago House and the New York experiments of Laurie Anderson, Panda Bear and Suicide. Collaborating with Strip Steve or Mathilde Fernandez, remixed by Chloé, Arnaud Robotini or Pilooski and remixing Bagarre or Lizzy Mercier Descloux, his productions forge connections between an intimate pop with a tinge of disturbing strangeness and the most unbridled dancing music.
Through albums and EPs released on DIRTY (“Cramer” 2013), Barclay (“Saltos” 2015) and his own label Etoile Distante (“Cavernes” 2018, “SUREX” 2020), he has forged a style of writing lyrics that oscillates between raw naturalism and dark surrealism and which makes him a singular voice in the french musical landscape, somewhere between Mansfield.TYA, Flavien Berger, Ascendant Vierge, Odezenne and Chassol.
On stage, whether he plays in festivals (Printemps de Bourges, Nuits de Fourvière, Francofolies …), in hot parisian parties (Trou aux biches) or supports french pop icon Etienne Daho, he delivers particularly electric shows where his taste for paroxysmal club atmospheres is fully expressed.
