Jonathan Miguel Moly Calero, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, July 13, 1993, is the son of Miss Venezuela Inés María Calero and the famous singer and composer Miguel Moly, Joanthan knew he wanted to be in the entertainment industry at a very young age.
His career began when he was just 4 years old after he recorded his first song “Eres Tu” with his father. The song debuted on a show called “Sábado Sensacional” on the Venevisión networks. At 5 years old he started piano lessons, further deepening his vocation and learned how to play more than 200 songs.
At 10 years old he began studying professionally for acting and singing and a year later he started taking guitar lessons and it is with this instrument that he began to write and compose his own songs.
At 13 years old he recorded and wrote his first song as a solo artist and in June of 2007 he released his first single called, “Mi Mejor Amiga,” which became a popular hit and was played in all of the radio stations in Venezuela.
During a promotional tour Jonathan met the manager of the boy band “Salserín”, who was impressed with his talent and asked him to join the group. As part of the popular boy band, Jonathan continued to grow professionally as an actor and singer and recorded various songs like, “Príncipe Soñado” and had successful tours in Perú, Ecuador and Colombia.
Jonathan also started in a mini-series for television called “Robando Corazones,” and became well known in America because of this mini-series. In 2010 he decided to continue his career as a solo artist and released his first CD called, “A Mi Manera,” which went gold.
Salsa rhythms became Jonathan’s signature style and he was later influenced by tropical rhythms fused with the urban genres, creating modern catchy songs that give way to his new musical career.
His songs like, “Dime cómo hacer”, “Mi niña hermosa” and “Carita de cristal” became tops hits on a national level topping the charts and this is when he starts gaining recognition in the music industry. He received numerous recognitions nationally which awakened the female audience and categorized him as a new musical revelation. This attracted the attention of world famous producer Sergio George, known for his work with Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz, Jennifer López and Prince Royce, among others stars.
In 2012 Jonathan Moly moved to the City of Miami to take his career to an international level, after signing with TOP STOP MUSIC head by Sergio George, together they start to record his second album.
In mid 2013 Jonathan releases “Mi Linda Princesa,” a catchy merengue, the video was filmed in Miami and was directed by Marlon Peña. In April he became part the Top Stop Music Showcase at the Billboard Awards, generating positive comments.
In May he was nominated for Premios Juventud in the category “Premio Revelación Juvenil.” Meanwhile Jonathan dedicated his time to promoting “Mi Linda Princesa” in all of Venezuela and shared his exhausting recording schedule of his new album and private concerts.
In 2014 he debuted “Piensa en mi,” a catchy salsa song that kept him at the top of the charts and makes it to the Billboard list in the United States. The video of this single was also played on rotation in top music channels worldwide and conquered the hearts of his fans with his endearing story. This same year Jonathan toured Venezuela and other countries.
At the end of 2014, he debuted his latest single, “Déjate llevar” and immediately gained popularity because of the tropical rhythms, Caribbean sounds and urban fusion.
In 2015 Jonathan started the year with a full agenda. He had many presentations and promoted the video of his single, “Déjate llevar.” This same year Jonathan launched his new website and lets fans knows that he was in the works for his studio album, “Compass.”
In March Jonathan started on an international press tour which took him all around the United States, his beloved Venezuela, Peru and Ecuador. Jonathan captivated fans of all ages and stars in commercial campaigns like Golden Refreshments in which he interacts with kids and teens and shows his passion for music.
In April he launched his second studio album, “Compass” which includes 11 songs and a bonus track. This album is full of romance, naughtiness and full of tropical sounds. This album was well received by his fans achieved historic record sales within days.
In October of 2015 he released the video for, “Una Bendición” which became a hit in all of Latin America and North America.
In 2016 Jonathan Moly launches his Vevo channel and debuted his single, “Se me acabo el tiempo” the 8th single of his career. In May he released “Sayonara” ft. Jerry Rivera which became a hit because of social media and the #Retosayonara. The video was recorded in Cuba and Dominica Republic and is currently #1 on Billboard.
